As a UX Research Intern, you will leverage qualitative and quantitative research methods to conduct research that ensures the Xometry user experience best supports our users and the company’s business goals. You will learn how to be a successful researcher at a high-growth enterprise technology company. You will partner with Design, Product Management, and Engineering and report to the UX Research lead. You will have a dedicated mentor and will join our intern cohort where you'll connect with product managers, engineers, designers, account teams, other interns, and leaders from across the company.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting qualitative and quantitative user research to understand customer behaviors, needs, and pain points.
  • Designing and executing studies, including user interviews, surveys, and usability tests, with support from UX Research Lead.
  • Analyzing and synthesizing research findings into actionable insights to inform product and design decisions.
  • Collaborating with product managers, designers, and engineers to ensure user needs are at the center of development.
  • Learning and applying best practices in research methodologies, tools, and data analysis to support user-centered design.

What You'll Do:

  • Conduct user research to understand customer needs, behaviors, and pain points.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to create wireframes, prototypes, and user flows.
  • Design and iterate on user interfaces that are visually appealing, intuitive, and aligned with brand guidelines.
  • Participate in usability testing to gather feedback and refine designs for optimal user experiences.
  • Learn and apply industry-standard tools and best practices in UX/UI design to deliver impactful solutions.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Academic Excellence: Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, graduating in December 2026 or May 2027, with a minimum 3.5 GPA.
  • Strong Work Ethic: Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week) during the internship period (June 8 - August 14, 2026).
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Entrepreneurial Spirit: A passion for problem-solving and a desire to drive results.
  • Legal Authorization: Ability to provide proof of legal right to work in the United States.
  • Location Requirement: Ability to commute to our North Bethesda, MD or Waltham, MA office to work onsite for at least 3 days a week.

The estimated base pay rate for new hires into this role is $27.00 per hour depending on factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, and location. This is a temporary position.
