We’re looking for an UX Researcher II to join our User Experience team at Anaconda, home to the world’s most popular Python data science platform. Our team turns real user insight into product decisions that matter, partnering with design and engineering to build tools that data scientists, developers, and technical practitioners rely on every day. We share findings early, challenge assumptions openly, and let evidence lead.
As part of the UX Research team, you will plan and execute evaluative research studies, synthesize usability findings, and help the team build a clearer picture of user needs within a specific product area. You will work directly with product managers, designers, data analysts, and engineers, contributing research that directly informs feature scope and roadmap direction.

- Synthesize findings into clear, actionable insights that connect directly to product decisions, design iteration, and roadmap trade-offs.
- Partner with designers and product managers to define research questions, frame study goals, and ensure findings reach the right people at the right time.
- Collaborate on defining user segments and recruitment criteria to ensure studies reflect the people we build for.
- Deliver research readouts and documentation that are clear, accessible, and reusable by cross-functional teams.
- Contribute to research libraries, documentation templates, and operational processes that improve how the team delivers at scale.
- Build proficiency across research tools such as Great Question and User Interviews to support efficient study execution and synthesis.
- Quality and clarity of research documentation and study readouts delivered to product and design partners.
- Influence of usability and evaluative findings on feature scope, design iteration, and roadmap decisions.
- Reliability and repeatability of research execution, including recruitment, logistics, and synthesis workflows.
- Growth in method range and independent study execution over time.
- 1–3 years of applied UX research experience in a product organization, including hands-on execution of evaluative studies such as usability tests, surveys, or interviews.
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize research findings into clear documentation tied to product decisions.
- Experience collaborating with designers and product managers to frame research goals and deliver findings that inform design or roadmap work.
- Experience selecting and applying research methods appropriate to study goals with limited oversight.
- Develop UX artifacts including personas, user journeys, and mental models that bring user understanding to life for teams across the organization.
- Portfolio or work samples showing research execution, synthesis, and the connection between findings and product outcomes.
- Bachelor’s degree in HCDE, Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience working effectively in a fully remote environment.
- You embody our values: “Curious by Default”, “Build Together”, “Own It”, and “Lead with Guts and Heart”, and our behaviors: Clarity, Care and Candor.
- You care deeply about fostering an environment where people of all backgrounds and experiences can flourish.
- Experience researching developer, data scientist, or technical practitioner audiences in an open-source or AI-oriented product company, you don’t need to code, but familiarity with technical workflows is a strong advantage.
- Early exposure to quantitative methods or behavioral data analysis, including comfort working with usage data or analytics tools to complement qualitative findings.
- Experience contributing to research operations, including documentation templates, recruitment processes, or research libraries that improved team efficiency.
- Experience presenting research findings to cross-functional stakeholders, advocating for users in rooms where they are underrepresented.
- You'll thrive in a high-performance environment where results are recognized and rewarded
- Your work directly contributes to shaping the future of data science, machine learning, and AI in the enterprise.
