Who We Are

We are Fifty & Fifty, a digital agency that works with leading social-minded organizations to marry their brand with stories of social impact in order to gain traction in tomorrow’s consumer market. We envision a world in which benefit corporations are the standard — not the exception — and social causes have mainstream mindshare, led by both businesses & nonprofits alike.. We partner with nonprofits and other purpose-driven groups in order to craft brands, websites, and digital marketing campaigns that engage larger audiences and drive action.

About the Opportunity

We are looking to add an experienced Digital Strategist to our team who will lead our web development projects from strategy to completion. This role is a great fit for a senior strategist with a heart for social impact, great research skills, a strong understanding of web development, and an eye for detail.

You will be the lead strategist and UX expert on all web development projects. You will support the team by providing research and strategic insights around a client, their market, and what a new project will deliver. Ultimately, you should be able to effectively connect the organizations with their ideal audience to help them grow their reach.

Responsibilities

  • Research - Lead the competitive analysis, stakeholder interviews, web audits, and all other forms of discovery to get alignment on client projects and needs.
  • Strategy - Build and present cohesive strategic documents and presentations to educate clients and gain team alignment.
  • Data and Metrics - Define and refine key project and product KPIs and design a product focused on moving the needle. Then analyze the data to measure our impact.
  • UX/IA - Provide sitemaps and page wireframes in order to communicate functionality and design components.
  • Leadership - Collaborate with the production team to keep the end product in alignment with client goals and to ensure that designs are implemented accurately and efficiently.
  • Relationship building - Work directly with clients to understand their business and marketing goals, help them reach those goals, and build substantial relationships along the way.
  • Management - Work with the leadership team to assess performance to goals as measured by established KPIs (utilization, revenue & margin) and to plan and forecast as well.

Who You Are

  • You view UX as your craft on such a deep level that it’s a part of your DNA.
  • You are humble and hungry. You want to be the best and aim to always be growing.
  • You’re curious. Learning, creativity, and innovation are part of who you are.
  • If you make a mistake, you own it and you learn from it. You don’t repeat it.
  • You can take and give constructive feedback without hard feelings.
  • You can take in evidence, integrate information from various and varied sources, derive meaning from it, and make critical decisions quickly.
  • You’re driven to move the needle. You seek visibility into how your work connects to your coworkers’ efforts and the company’s mission.
  • You actively look for opportunities to make other team members look good and feel good.
  • You don't give up. You are tenacious in the pursuit of what you want, and resilient when the going gets tough.
  • You learn from every experience and improve outcomes by defining and refining your process.
  • You are empathetic. You don’t jump to conclusions about other people’s thoughts or motivations.
  • You’re a leader who is comfortable driving decisions and operating with little direction.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years UX Design or 1-2 years UX Strategy experience at an agency
  • A passion for making the world a better place
  • Superb written communication skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills
  • Persistent positive attitude and poise under pressure
  • A high level of integrity and professionalism in dealing with people at all levels
  • Proven ability to work independently
  • Experience and true desire to work remotely
  • Strong problem-solving skills to anticipate potential development challenges and propose alternative solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to balance creativity with technical feasibility in designing user-centered experiences.

Tech Stack Expertise

  • Proficient in web development concepts and technologies to bridge the gap between design and development teams
  • Extensive knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to create realistic and feasible design solutions
  • Understanding of responsive design principles and the constraints of different devices and platforms
  • Familiarity with back-end technologies (such as databases and server-side scripting) to consider technical limitations when designing user experiences
  • Highly proficient in Figma, Slack, Zoom, and Google Workspace
  • Extra credit: ClickUp, Loom

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
