Position Details:

The Opportunity:

The Marketing and Communications Director provides strategic leadership for the Voiland College of Engineering and Architecture's marketing and communications efforts. In this position, you will lead the College's marketing and communications team in planning, developing, and implementing integrated branding, marketing, and communications strategies that deliver clear, consistent, and impactful messaging to internal and external audiences.

As the Director, you will collaborate closely with College leadership to develop and execute communications plans that educate, inform, and engage students, faculty, staff, alumni, industry partners, donors, and other stakeholders. You will be responsible for overseeing the creation of compelling content across multiple platforms, evaluates the effectiveness of marketing, public relations, and social media initiatives through data and analytics, and continuously refines strategies to maximize reach and impact.

Working in partnership with administrators, faculty, staff, students, professional organizations, community and business leaders, and Washington State University Communications, you will advance the College's reputation, strengthens its brand, and supports its strategic priorities through innovative and effective marketing and communications programs.

Additional Information:

This is a full-time (100% FTE), permanent position. Overtime eligibility will be determined based on final salary placement.

Monthly Salary: $6,012.09 - 9,400 | Commensurate with experience and qualifications
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations or other relevant field AND four (4) years of professional level experience in print or broadcast media, public relations work or other relevant experience which has included at least one (1) year of supervisory experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience making presentations.

  • Experience with graphic design.

  • Experience with social media marketing.

  • Experience with analytics including their interpretation and presentation.

  • Experience overseeing the design and production of print materials and publications.

  • Excellent multitasking abilities and oral and written communication skills.

  • Proven abilities in effective marketing/advertising strategies.

  • Experience working with a variety of different populations.
