Your role at a glance

We are seeking a Vice President, Global Power & Energy responsible for power and energy strategy across the globe (AMER, EMEA, APAC, and India regions). This executive will define and lead power strategy, oversee major power initiatives across our data center portfolio, and drive innovation in energy systems and energy procurement.
The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and collaborative leader with deep technical expertise, strong communication skills, and a proven ability to manage complex global programs
Work in close coordination with the VP, Strategic Planning & Design and the SVP, Global Development & Construction to align power acquisition and delivery strategies with site development schedules, business case assumptions, and global design standards.
Serve as a key member of the Global Infrastructure Leadership Team, providing input into enterprise design strategy, sustainability alignment, and business case validation for all power-related programs.

What we are looking for

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Leadership: Define and execute a power strategy aligned with enterprise goals and sustainability targets. Lead long-range planning for power infrastructure across all regions.
Team & Program Management: Build and mentor a high-performing team of utility program managers and technical experts. Foster cross-functional collaboration with engineering, construction, operations, and sustainability teams.
Project Oversight: -Ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality delivery of power projects. Oversee the lifecycle of power infrastructure from concept through commissioning.
Stakeholder Collaboration: - Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including utilities, regulators, and strategic partners. Represent the company in industry forums and regulatory discussions.
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to power delivery, permitting, and regulatory compliance. Ensure adherence to global standards and local regulations.
Innovation & Process Development: - Champion innovation in power systems, including renewable integration, smart grid technologies, and advanced analytics. Develop and refine processes for power procurement, design, and delivery.
Utility Agreements & Strategic Sourcing: Lead negotiations for utility power connection agreements and power purchase contracts. Optimize sourcing strategies for reliability, cost, and sustainability.
Construction Interface: Ensure successful handover of documentation to construction teams.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
15+ years of experience in the power and utilities sector, with a focus on mission-critical infrastructure.
Expertise in substation design, power routing, permitting, and strategic sourcing.
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Proven ability to navigate global regulatory environments and drive compliance.
Deep understanding of load forecasting, cost optimization, and GIS-based planning.
Experience in contract negotiations and risk management for power procurement.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or related field.
Extensive experience (15+ years) in design of critical facilities and/or complex infrastructure, preferably in a leadership role within the design industry.
Strong working acumen with CSA and MEP systems development; Architectural, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering education or experience is a plus.
WORK CONDITIONS
This is a multi-regional role, which will require up to 15% international travel and regular collaboration and meetings across multiple regions.
Remote-based position with extensive daily use of digital collaboration tools
remote with travel approximately 15% of the time.
This is a remote position that requires reliable internet connection and electricity. A monthly stipend is provided to cover expenses associated with working remotely and use of a personal mobile device, if applicable.
NTT Global Data Centers Americas, Inc. offers competitive compensation based on experience, education, and location. Base salary for this position is $195,000 - $425000.
All regular full-time employees are eligible for an annual bonus; payout is dependent upon individual and company performance.
