Job Description

The Vice President of Information Services (VP-IS) is responsible and accountable for supporting the delivery of technology-based solutions and services for our internal employees at Expeditors. The role will provide leadership for all aspects of solutions including strategy, tactics, operations, people, budget, and measurement. The individual will work in concert with multiple stakeholder groups spanning Executive Leadership, the Board of Directors, Enterprise Committees, peers, global operations, service providers, and technical teams. The VP-IS must have a strong business sense, understand logistics focused solutions, technology, innovation, risk management, process, and governance and have the technical aptitude and experience to manage the complete solutions delivery lifecycle. This role must lead and achieve an effective and industry leading program, solutions, and results, in concert with company strategic priorities, and instill the Expeditors culture in everything we do.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Cultivate and deliver Expeditors culture across the organization; coach, mentor, and manage employees and leaders; develop and maintain an overarching culture of success.
  • Lead, innovate, develop, and support industry leading logistics focused solutions and services.
  • Engage with relevant and vested stakeholders, ensure that company needs are understood and reasonably met.
  • Keep informed across the global logistics landscape and how technology-based solutions are evolving; keep the company relevant, and ahead, to maintain competitive advantage.
  • Ensure solutions meet enterprise architectural expectations, are resilient, and secure.
  • Deliver timely with measured results.
  • Remain compliant and pro-active with ongoing and emerging regulatory requirements.
  • Deliver solutions and services that reasonably integrate with existing dependent strategies and architectures.
  • Ensure budgets are aligned with company strategy and support strategic priorities that deliver results and adequately enable the organization to compete and win.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Personal and professional alignment with Expeditors culture and ten critical success factors.
  • Proven experience as a technology and logistics leader or similar technology-oriented leadership role.
  • Proven experience leading large transformation efforts, including cloud, data, APIs and deployment pipelines.
  • Experience delivering compliant and secure by design solutions.
  • Strong leadership, organizational and communication capabilities.
  • Engaged and connected to the broader global logistics technology community.
  • Experienced systems and process thinker, problem solver and able to provide clarity around complex topics.
  • Experience with governance frameworks, standards, Lean, Agile and the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
  • Assertive personality; interpersonal, action and outcome driven leadership.
  • Ability to actively inspire and motivate.

Additional Information

Expected base salary:  $100,000

Eligible for Bonus.
