About this role

Overview

We are recruiting for a Vice President of Insurance reporting to the Managing Director and head of insurance for BlackRock. This individual will be based in New York and support insurance activities at all our US-based fund portfolio companies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with portfolio companies on the following insurance activities: initiating and assisting in broker RFPs; connecting and leveraging insurance broker and insurer network; offering options for portfolio-wide insurance solutions; providing benchmarking and analytics; and securing optimal claims outcomes

  • Lead the administration of portfolio-wide insurance solutions

  • Coordinate insurance due diligence and representations and warranties insurance on portfolio company acquisitions and dispositions

  • Provide hands-on insurance support to investment and legal teams, including fielding technical questions and providing trends in insurance industry

  • Maintain relationships with key insurance broker and insurer partners

  • Develop and enhance insurance-related processes and procedures

  • Review and monitor insurance policy data in our centralized insurance reporting system

  • Review and provide guidance on insurance provisions in contracts

  • Provide administrative support on invoicing and cost allocations

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • 5-10 years of insurance experience, preferably working within or supporting private equity or private infrastructure companies

  • Basic knowledge of insurance coverages

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; must be able to articulately present complex technical concepts in a concise and understandable way to senior internal and external audiences

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple ongoing deliverables and tight deadlines

  • Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent collaboration and team building skills

  • Good judgment and impeccable ethics; desire to succeed in a demanding, innovative, entrepreneurial environment

  • Proficiency in Power Point, Excel, Word and using AI tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT)

For New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$145,000.00 - USD$173,500.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.

Our hybrid work model

Some business groups may require more time in the office due to their roles and responsibilities.
