At AbsenceSoft, we’re transforming the employee experience. Our secure, intuitive technology helps employers bring humanity, certainty, and efficiency to some of the most complex moments in the workplace. Built by HR professionals for HR professionals, we’re proud of where we’ve been and even more excited about where we’re going.

We're looking for a Vice President, Sales Operations to lead the strategy, systems, and processes that power AbsenceSoft's go-to-market engine. This is an executive role with enterprise-wide reach, owning forecasting, territory and compensation design, sales technology, and the analytics leadership relies on to make confident decisions. You'll operate with a high degree of autonomy, partnering directly with the Chief Revenue Officer and other executive leaders to translate company strategy into a scalable, efficient sales organization. The ideal candidate is equally skilled at strategic thinking and hands-on execution, with experience running sales operations at scale in a B2B SaaS environment and a track record of turning ambiguity into repeatable process. This role directly influences revenue predictability, sales productivity, and the effectiveness of AbsenceSoft's sales organization.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the CRO and executive team, shaping decisions on headcount planning, market segmentation, and go-to-market investment
  • Lead the annual sales planning process, including territory design, quota setting, and capacity modeling in partnership with the CRO and Finance
  • Design and administer sales compensation plans that align incentives with company revenue goals
  • Develop and continuously refine the sales forecasting methodology, delivering accurate, defensible forecasts to executive leadership and the board
  • Identify trends and root causes behind performance gaps, and translate data into recommendations that change how the business operates
  • Recruit, lead, and develop a high-performing sales operations team, setting the vision for how the function supports the broader sales organization
  • Oversee the sales technology stack (CRM, CPQ, forecasting, and enablement tools), setting the roadmap for what the team needs to scale efficiently
  • Establish and govern sales processes, playbooks, and deal desk policies that scale as the organization grows
  • Partner with Finance, Marketing, Customer Success, and Product leadership to align go-to-market strategy with company-wide priorities
  • Champion sales enablement and onboarding programs that shorten ramp time and improve sales representative productivity
  • Create the dashboards and reporting cadence that give executive leadership real-time visibility into pipeline health, conversion rates, and sales representative productivity
  • Streamline the deal lifecycle from opportunity creation through contract execution, removing friction and reducing time-to-close

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • 15+ years of progressive leadership in sales operations, revenue operations, or a related function within a B2B SaaS company, with a Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field (MBA preferred)
  • A track record of presenting to senior leadership and Board members, with the credibility to influence company-wide strategy at the executive level
  • Proven success designing and running sales forecasting, territory planning, and compensation processes for a growing sales organization
  • Strong analytical and financial acumen, translating complex data into clear narratives for executive and board audiences
  • A strategic mindset that turns company objectives into scalable sales processes and systems, paired with the trust to shape decisions at the CRO and board level
  • Skill building, leading, and developing high-performing operations teams, and influencing peers and executives without direct authority
  • Deep hands-on fluency with CRM platforms (Salesforce or similar) and the broader sales technology ecosystem (Gong, Outreach, CPQ, IronClad, etc.)
  • Skilled cross-functional collaboration, aligning Sales, Finance, Marketing, and Customer Success around shared revenue goals
  • Comfort operating with high autonomy in a fast-paced, high-growth SaaS environment
  • A results-oriented, builder mindset — equally effective designing strategy and executing hands-on when needed
  • Background in HR technology, HCM, payroll, or absence and leave management software
  • A record of scaling a sales organization through a high-growth stage, including system and process re-platforming
  • Familiarity with sales performance and compensation tools such as CPQ platforms
  • Certified Sales Operations Professional (CSOP) or equivalent certification a plus

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
