General Motors is looking for a Virtual Engineering Lead Engineer to join our Body Manufacturing Product Interface team. In this role, you will help shape vehicle designs early in development by ensuring they are manufacturable, robust, and aligned with body manufacturing requirements.
You will use math-based tools, simulation, and digital validation methods to assess body-in-white manufacturability, identify risks early, and drive solutions with cross-functional partners. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys technical problem-solving, virtual validation, and improving manufacturing outcomes through data and innovation.

What You'll Do
- Lead virtual engineering activities supporting body manufacturing requirements
- Use Teamcenter, TcVIS, NX, and Tecnomatix Process Simulate/Designer to assess manufacturability
- Evaluate weldability, access, sealing, part handling, and related body-in-white requirements
- Partner with Product Engineering, Stamping, Paint, Body Manufacturing Engineering, and IT to resolve issues early
- Drive best practices, process improvements, and tool innovation across global teams
- Support KPI tracking, issue reporting, engineering changes, and virtual manufacturing studies
- Help develop and improve tools, automation, and data-driven workflows
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent technical experience
- Experience with Siemens Teamcenter, TcVIS, NX, and Tecnomatix Process Simulate/Designer
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with Excel and macro creation or similar automation tools
- Experience collaborating across global and cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with body-in-white manufacturing, tooling, or joining processes
- Knowledge of virtual simulation workflows and vehicle development milestones
- Robot simulation experience
- Familiarity with manufacturing requirements and automotive development processes
- Coding or scripting experience in Python, Visual Basic, or C++
