Who Develops You: Visual Design Team Lead

What You're Great At:

You're a strong visual designer with 3+ years of professional graphic or visual design experience, backed by a portfolio that shows off your typography, layout, composition, and creative problem-solving skills. You're fluent in Figma, Canva, and Adobe Creative Suite, and just as comfortable designing for print as you are for digital. You've juggled multiple brands or clients before, and you know how to work within existing brand guidelines while still bringing something fresh to the table. You have a sharp eye for detail and hold your work to a high, production-ready standard. You manage multiple projects at once without breaking a sweat, take feedback well, and iterate quickly. You're self-directed and comfortable working independently, but you also know when to ask questions or loop in your team. Experience with real estate, home services, SaaS, or tech brands is a plus, as is experience with print production specs or building out scalable Figma templates.

What You'll Do:

  • Design marketing and communications materials for real estate teams, home service partners, and home service technology businesses
  • Create a wide variety of visual assets including digital ads, social graphics, flyers, postcards, brochures, presentations, event collateral, email graphics, signage, sales materials, and other marketing assets
  • Translate creative briefs and business objectives into effective visual design solutions
  • Work within established brand guidelines while maintaining a strong eye for typography, layout, hierarchy, imagery, and composition
  • Adapt existing brand systems across different formats, audiences, and channels
  • Collaborate with marketing, product, web, partner success, and other internal teams to understand project requirements and deliver effective creative
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines
  • Participate in design critiques and incorporate feedback quickly and thoughtfully
  • Prepare and export final files for digital and print production
  • Maintain organized Figma and Canva files and ensure final assets are easy for internal teams and partners to access and use
  • Communicate clearly when projects are complete, including providing final files and relevant usage or production information
  • Help identify opportunities to improve creative processes, templates, and scalable design resources

Salary: Ranges from $32-38/hour depending on experience.

And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
