The Vice President of Renters Solutions Business Development is accountable for driving new business growth through a team of sales professionals. This role involves cultivating new relationships and partnerships to distribute Renters Solutions products and services through property management and other affinity partners. The VP will spearhead the implementation of the business development strategy and will work in close collaboration with the President of Renters Solutions and the Renters Solutions Leadership Team to achieve business objectives.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?  

  • Strategic Leadership: Lead the business development and sales function to achieve business goals, strategies, growth, and budget targets.

  • Business Relationships: Prospect and cultivate both new and existing business relationships to secure future revenue generation, enhance the business profile, and manage key strategic relationships.

  • Partnership Development: Establish relationships with key partners and/or acquisition targets to accelerate long-term growth.

  • Sales Vision: Establish current and long-range goals and objectives, setting a strategic vision for Sales in alignment with Renters Solutions' overall objectives.

  • Sales Cycle Management: Develop and coordinate all aspects of the sales cycle and methodology to generate new sales opportunities and ensure the profitable retention of existing clients. This includes analyzing and evaluating the effectiveness of sales activities, methods, related costs, and results.

  • Client Engagement: Support and participate in sales calls, client reviews, and presentations, effectively representing and communicating the value proposition to key stakeholders within the client base.

  • Service Delivery: Ensure the delivery of superior service to meet client needs with speed, accuracy, and agility.

  • Value Proposition Development: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to influence the development of comprehensive value propositions, including new products and services, marketing strategies, and innovative technologies to promote client growth.

  • Budget: Setting and driving sales targets while effectively managing a budget to ensure financial objectives are met and aligned with the company’s strategic goals.

  • Client Advocacy: Represent client needs and interests with internal teams (Operations, Actuarial, Risk, Accounting, IT, Legal, Compliance, Telecommunications, etc.) and external partners (vendors, service providers, strategic partners).

  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of up to 15 members, fostering an environment of growth and engagement.

What are the requirements needed for this position?

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • A minimum of 8 years leading teams in business development, strategic planning, consultative sales, training, new product development, and/or account management.

  • Proven track record of developing and maintaining extensive, long-term relationships with executives and C-level decision-makers within Property Management companies.

  • Demonstrated experience in direct client interfacing and relationship management.

  • Extensive experience in strategic planning with a big-picture thinking approach.

  • Strong financial acumen, with the ability to develop deal structures and business cases to support strategic business development initiatives.

  • Proven experience in budgeting and forecasting.

  • Demonstrated experience in leading effective and engaged teams.

  • Mastery of sales competencies, with a proven ability to achieve and exceed sales targets.

What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?  

  • Experience / knowledge of insurance products preferred

How much should I expect to travel?

  • Up to 40% travel

Pay Range:

$166,900.00 - $278,600.00

Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
