Who We Are

Lunchbox is a powerhouse of enterprise solutions designed to transform the digital restaurant experience. We don’t just build, we craft performance tools that drive guests to restaurants and only restaurants.

We’re led by food industry insiders who genuinely care about the businesses we serve. We’ve raised the largest Series A in FoodTech ($22M) and a Series B ($50M), both led by Coatue, because we’re here to change the game.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re searching for a strategic and creative finance leader—someone who sees beyond traditional financial management and actively contributes to the company’s growth, efficiency, and profitability. This is not just about cutting costs; it’s about maximizing revenue opportunities, operational scalability, and financial discipline to drive long-term success.

As our Vice President of Finance & Operations, you’ll be a high-impact leader who balances financial strategy with operational excellence. You’ll partner with the CEO and leadership team to translate high-level company goals into actionable, measurable, and financially sound strategies.

What You'll Do

  • Go beyond the numbers—identify revenue-generating opportunities, strategic cost efficiencies, and scalable financial models.
  • Own the financial planning and analysis (FP&A) function, ensuring that key decisions are data-driven, forward-looking, and financially sustainable.
  • Develop and implement pricing strategies to optimize profitability and growth.
  • Lead financial modeling and forecasting, ensuring proactive decision-making.
  • Manage cash flow, capital allocation, and investment strategies to support business expansion.

Operational Excellence & Scalability

  • Partner with executive leaders to streamline operations, improve efficiency, and drive sustainable growth.
  • Optimize internal processes, automation, and financial controls to create a scalable foundation for the company.
  • Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) for financial and operational health.
  • Identify and execute on cost-reduction opportunities without compromising growth or quality.

Financial Leadership & Governance

  • Ensure accurate, timely financial reporting for leadership, investors, and the Board.
  • Oversee accounting policies, tax compliance, audits, and financial regulations.
  • Provide fundraising support and financial diligence, particularly as we scale beyond Series B.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and legal teams to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations.

What You Bring

  • 8+ years of progressive finance leadership experience in high-growth environments (food tech/startup/SaaS preferred).
  • Proven success in strategic financial planning, business operations, and revenue generation.
  • Experience leading financial modeling, forecasting, and capital strategy in a growth-stage company.
  • Strong background in cost optimization without sacrificing growth.
  • Deep understanding of GAAP, financial controls, and compliance.
  • Experience in M&A, investor relations, and fundraising support is a plus.

Benefits:

🌍 Remote work from anywhere in the US.

💸 Workspace stipend or device allowance of up to $500.

💰 Competitive salary and equity packages.

🏥 Comprehensive health coverage (medical, dental, and vision).

💆 Online mental health therapy for your well-being.

🏖️ Flexible PTO from day one and parental leave.

📚 Annual professional development stipend.

🍔 Oh, and we’ll even cover the cost of your food-related tattoo!

Lunchbox’s biggest asset is our people. We cultivate a culture of collaboration, innovation, and inclusivity. If you’re a strategic finance leader who thrives in a fast-moving environment and wants to make a direct impact on the restaurant industry, we want to hear from you.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
