What We're Looking For

As our founding VP of Finance, you will build and lead the Finance function from the ground up. Partnering closely with our founders and executive team, you will own the full spectrum of financial strategy, planning, and operations. You will design and drive the end-to-end FP&A process, establish robust systems and controls, and translate data into actionable insights that guide strategic decision-making.

  • Develop and execute a financial roadmap aligned with our growth objectives, from forecasting to capital allocation and cash management.

  • Own and lead all financial aspects of fundraising and investor relations, including financial modeling, diligence readiness, and board communications.

  • Build a best-in-class FP&A process: budget creation, rolling forecasts, variance analysis, scenario planning, and KPI tracking.

  • Deliver insights and presentations to the Board, investors, and ELT on financial performance, opportunities, and risks.

  • Oversee day-to-day finance operations, including accounting, payroll, tax, treasury, and expense management.

  • Implement scalable systems and internal controls to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.

  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Customer Success leaders to align financial goals with GTM and product strategies.

  • Drive data-driven decision-making by providing financial context to operational plans and investments.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related fields; MBA or CPA is strongly preferred.

  • 7-8 years of progressive finance leadership experience at high-growth B2B SaaS companies, including FP&A and operational finance.

  • Demonstrated success scaling finance functions through Series B or Series C fundraising cycles.

  • Exceptional analytical skills with expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, and business partnering.

  • Proven track record managing fundraising processes, investor relations, and board reporting.

  • Deep understanding of SaaS metrics (ARR, CAC, LTV, churn, etc.) and revenue recognition principles.

  • Excellent communicator, able to distill complex financial data into clear narratives for diverse stakeholders.

  • Collaborative leadership style with a bias for action and a passion for building high-impact teams.

Preferred Attributes
  • Experience in AI-driven or data-centric technology environments.

  • Prior exposure to international operations, including multi-entity operations and tax considerations.

  • Comfort working in a fast-paced startup culture and navigating ambiguity.

Benefits
  • Competitive salary & early stage stock options based on experience

  • 100% coverage of health insurance, with 75% support for dependents

  • 3 weeks paid PTO + Holiday week off between Christmas and NYE

  • Yearly full-company offsite at a memorable location

  • Learning stipends

  • A fun team that values autonomy and trust

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
