Summary:
The Vice President of Manufacturing leads a critical component of DFIN's global operating strategy, delivering highly regulated and mission-critical print and print-related products that support client disclosure, compliance, and transactional needs. This role is accountable for improving throughput, operational resiliency, cost performance, and service reliability while supporting continued growth and evolving customer demands.
Based on-site at DFIN's Lancaster, Pennsylvania manufacturing facility, the VP of Manufacturing provides hands-on leadership to the local manufacturing organization and oversees a broad vendor network, primarily within the United States and selectively internationally. This executive serves as the senior escalation point for operational, capacity, equipment, vendor, and facility risks and partners closely with executive leadership to build scalable, reliable, and cost-effective manufacturing operations.
Success in this role requires a visible, decisive leader who communicates clearly with employees, vendors, and clients while setting high standards for execution, safety, compliance, and continuous improvement. Success in this role will be measured by improved service reliability, operational performance, cost discipline, and risk reduction, supported by a strong manufacturing leadership team and a resilient internal and external production network.

Responsibilities:
Manufacturing, Print Operations & Planning
- Own and execute the print manufacturing and operations strategy aligned with cost, quality, delivery, capacity, and growth objectives
- Oversee end-to-end print production operations, including planning, scheduling, printing, finishing, packaging, and distribution
- Lead demand balancing and production scheduling to optimize capacity, service commitments, and throughput
- Own end to end performance, governance, and risk management of DFIN's external manufacturing vendor network, ensuring execution against quality, cost, capacity, security, and regulatory standards
- Serve as the final escalation point for production delays, quality issues, and customer-impacting risks
Facilities, Maintenance & Engineering
- Oversee facilities management, maintenance, and plant engineering to ensure reliable operations
- Establish preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize uptime
- Lead capital planning and automation initiatives
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety standards
Financial Management & Performance
- Own operating and capital budgets
- Establish and monitor KPIs and lead corrective action planning as needed to meet performance expectations
- Drive productivity improvements across labor, materials, equipment utilization and workflows
- Provide executive-level reporting on operational performance, risks and investment needs

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred
- 15+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience; experience with pre-press, digital and offset printing and logistics processes preferred
- Demonstrated experience with manufacturing process management, continuous improvement methodologies and leveraging technological innovation
- Executive-level experience in high-volume, regulated manufacturing environments
- Strong executive leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
