We integrate seamlessly with tools like Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Slack, and more, helping teams stay aligned and move forward, whether they’re in the same room or across time zones.

Backed by $81 million in funding from Smash Capital, Madrona, and Goodwater Capital, Read AI is growing. If you're excited to shape the future of AI-powered collaboration and want to make an impact at a product-focused startup, we’d love to meet you.
The Role:

Read AI is hiring a VP of Marketing to build and lead the company’s first scaled marketing function, turning strong product-led growth into a repeatable, global growth engine.

This role sits at the intersection of product, growth, and revenue. It is responsible for defining Read’s narrative, scaling acquisition, and building the systems that convert viral adoption into enterprise expansion.

You will start as a player-coach, owning strategy while building the team, agency ecosystem, and execution engine from the ground up.

What You’ll Do:

1. Own the Marketing Strategy & Narrative
  • Define positioning, messaging, and category (“system of record for meetings”)

  • Act as the quarterback of product marketing (PMM) and company narrative

  • Translate product velocity (AI assistant, digital twin, integrations) into clear use cases

  • Bridge the gap between Read AI’s B2C and B2B customer profiles

2. Build the Marketing Function from Scratch
  • Hire and lead PMM, demand generation, content, and design teams

  • Stand up the full marketing stack (paid, lifecycle, SEO/AEO, CRM, analytics)

  • Manage agencies and external partners for rapid execution

3. Scale Demand Generation & Paid Acquisition
  • Build and optimize paid channels (search, social, programmatic) as a key growth lever

  • Improve customer acquisition cost (CAC), conversion, and LTV through experimentation

  • Expand beyond heavy organic/viral reliance into predictable acquisition

4. Drive Product-Led Growth (PLG) Expansion
  • Optimize onboarding, activation, and lifecycle marketing

  • Convert bottoms-up users into teams and enterprise customers

  • Partner with product on growth loops (calendar connect, reports, virality)

5. Align Product, Sales, and Marketing
  • Bridge PLG + sales motion (enterprise upsell, CRM integrations)

  • Support sales with demos, collateral, and verticalized use cases

  • Help define when and how to scale enterprise GTM vs. self-serve

6. Own Metrics and Growth Outcomes
  • Own funnel metrics: acquisition, activation, retention, monetization

  • Build dashboards and attribution models across channels

  • Drive toward efficient, scalable growth (CPA targets, conversion lift)

What You’ll Need:

  • Proven VP-level (or strong Director ready to step up) in high-growth SaaS or AI

  • Experience shaping category narratives for emerging or AI-driven products

  • Deep experience in PLG + paid acquisition + product marketing

  • Track record scaling from strong organic traction to market leadership

  • Strong operator: can go from strategy → execution quickly

  • Experience building teams from zero and managing agencies

  • Comfortable with ambiguity; knows when to wait for product signal vs. scale spend

  • Data-driven with strong intuition on growth levers and positioning

  • Strong background in communications, PR, or storytelling at scale (not just performance marketing)

  • Ability to operate as both Head of Growth and Head of Comms in early stages

What Success Looks Like:

  • Clear, differentiated market narrative and positioning

  • Scalable paid + lifecycle engine complementing viral growth

  • Improved conversion across onboarding, activation, and paid funnels

  • Strong alignment between product, sales, and marketing

  • Marketing evolves from nonexistent → repeatable growth engine

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
