We are looking for VP, Sales -Federal Projects to join our team in one of today’s most exciting technologies. This role will report to the EVP & Chief Commercial Officer and will be based in Washington, DC area

Job Summary:

As the VP, Sales for Federal Projects at Bloom Energy, you will develop strategic partnerships with relevant federal agencies, enabling the delivery of Bloom’s onsite energy solutions. You will be responsible for managing the relationships across various federal stakeholders and working levels and driving complex procurement processes. This role combines strategic account leadership and commercial execution to drive growth in the Federal Sector.

Location: Washington, D.C. area

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop sales strategy for driving business within the federal government
  • Serve as Bloom’s lead commercial contact across relevant Federal agencies
  • Educate government agencies on Bloom’s solutions and demonstrate how these align with the strategic energy priorities of the Department of Defense and other relevant departments
  • Ensure compliance with regulations, and manage relationships at the highest senior levels of government
  • Navigate the federal procurement process both externally and internally
  • Drive proposal and contracting process and negotiation from end to end

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 15+ years procurement experience within and/or with federal agencies such as the Department of Defense and/or Department of Energy
  • Technical Expertise: Familiarity with alternative energy solutions for large-scale facilities is a plus
  • Sector knowledge: Expertise in federal procurement process and regulations
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Energy Management, or a related field. MBA or advanced technical degree preferred
  • Other: Frequent travel may be required for in-person meetings with strategic federal customers

Core competencies:

  • Strategic coordination across internal and external stakeholders to advance complex commercial pursuits
  • Ability to translate technical, financial, and operational concepts into actionable partner-facing tools and messages
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills with government agencies
  • Financial and analytical acumen to support pricing, ROI modeling, and solution justification
