Our platform supercharges productivity across meetings, email, messages, CRM, and workflow tools and integrates seamlessly with every popular platform without complex setup. Read AI helps individuals stay on track and teams move forward faster, wherever and however they collaborate.

Backed by $81 million in funding from Smash Capital, Madrona, and Goodwater Capital, Read AI is growing. If you're excited to shape the future of AI-powered work and want to make an impact at a product-focused startup, we’d love to meet you.

The Role:

Read AI is a Top 50 AI App as measured by a16z, though a purely PLG motion with zero in ad spend and a BDR team of less than 5. We are looking for a strategic and results-driven VP of Sales to lead Read AI’s next stage of growth, driven by the sales organization that you build. In this role, you’ll build and scale a high-performing sales team, define and execute our go-to-market strategy, and drive adoption of our new analytics product across enterprise, mid-market, and prosumer segments.

This is a pivotal leadership position that requires a mix of strategic thinking, team-building, sales execution, and cross-functional collaboration. You’ll report directly to the CEO and work closely with marketing, product, and customer success teams to deliver revenue growth and customer value.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute Read AI’s sales strategy to drive revenue growth across enterprise, mid-market, and self-serve segments
  • Build, lead, and scale a high-performing sales team with a strong culture of ownership and accountability
  • Own forecasting, pipeline management, and reporting to ensure accuracy and performance against goals
  • Establish and optimize sales processes, systems, and tools (CRM, sales engagement, etc.)
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Product, and Customer Success to align go-to-market efforts
  • Engage directly with key prospects and customers to close deals and shape our value proposition
  • Define go-to-market strategies for new product launches and customer segments
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to inform strategy and positioning
  • Ensure operational excellence across all stages of the sales funnel and customer journey

Qualifications:

  • Experience scaling revenue from tens of millions to hundreds of millions in an executive leadership role.
  • History of successfully building out a small team to an organization that crosses BDRs, AEs, and Sales Directors.
  • Proven track record of building and scaling high-performing sales teams in a fast-growth environment
  • Track record in taking a prosumer business, accelerating it, and expanding it into an enterprise SaaS model.
  • 8+ years of experience in B2B SaaS sales, with 5+ years in a senior leadership role
  • Strong strategic thinking and execution skills, with experience driving both inbound and outbound sales motions in the early stages to a flywheel.
  • Hands-on experience with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and sales tech stacks
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Familiarity with productivity, AI, or collaboration software markets is highly desirable
