Guy Carpenter's North American Strategic Advisory group is responsible for providing valued, differentiating insights to our clients around their own growth, capital, and volatility management strategy. We are currently seeking candidates for our offices in New York, Philadelphia, Seattle, Morristown, NJ, and Minneapolis.

SVP, Actuary

We will count on you to:

  • Consult with brokers on client needs and advise on reinsurance programs based on risk tolerance levels and industry trends to help clients mitigate risk.

  • Implement complex models and calculations to assess risk and develop pricing strategies for a range of risk exposures for clients.

  • Lead junior resources in building complex analyses to evaluate assumptions, premiums, and risk, while consulting with clients on reinsurance actuarial services.

  • Present analysis to clients and reinsurance markets, acting as both a client advocate and actuarial advisor.

  • Drive internal actuarial and strategic projects with minimal supervision.

What you need to have:

  • ACAS or FCAS designation with 10+ years of experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Economics, Math, Statistics, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in pricing, valuation, and/or capital modeling.

  • Proficiency in visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar.

  • Coding experience in programming languages (e.g., Alteryx, R, Python, VBA, SQL).

Marsh McLennan is committed to hybrid work, which includes the flexibility of working remotely and the collaboration, connections and professional development benefits of working together in the office. All Marsh McLennan colleagues are expected to be in their local office or working onsite with clients at least three days per week. Office-based teams will identify at least one “anchor day” per week on which their full team will be together in person.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $161,200 to $268,800.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
