Design, implement, and maintain Wi‑Fi networks for multi-dwelling units: conduct site surveys, configure access points/controllers, troubleshoot RF and network issues, document topology and procedures, monitor performance, and train clients and teams.
Wireless Engineer will design, implement and maintain wireless network for Bulk properties Multi Dwelling Units.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct site surveys and analyze property layouts requirements to develop wireless network solutions
- Design and implement wireless network infrastructure, including access points and antennas
- Configure and manage wifi access points, controllers, and related network equipment.
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve wireless network issues or advise on optimization
- Maintain documentation of network configurations, changes, and incidents.
- Provide training and technical guidance to clients and other team members.
- Create documentation outlining network topology, standards, and procedures
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and technological advancements
- Conduct regular performance monitoring and reporting of Wi-Fi networks
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Work closely with other departments, including IT, Network Engineering/Operations, Finance, and Customer Support, to ensure seamless delivery of video services.
- Collaborate with vendors and partners to evaluate and integrate new technologies and services.
- Engage with customers to gather feedback and ensure satisfaction with Wi-Fi services.
Technical Competencies:
- Experience with Ruckus or Calix equipment or Equivalent
- Experience with Ruckus One, Smartzone, Calix Cloud or Equivalent
- Hands-on experience with Ekahau Pro, Ekahau Sidekick, Ekahau Analyzer or Hamina Onsite/Hamina Network Planner
- Strong understanding of RF principles, signal propagation, and interference sources
- At least 3-5 years of experience in wireless network engineering, design, and implementation
- Proven experience in troubleshooting and resolving complex network issues
- Strong knowledge of wireless networking protocols (e.g. 802.11, Bluetooth, Zigbee)
- Experience in configuring and managing wifi access points, controllers, and related equipment
- Solid understanding of network security principles and best practices
- Proficient in conducting site surveys and performing network troubleshooting
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree in technology or equivalent lead-level design, configuration and installation experience in an applicably sized network.
- Experience in wireless engineering, with a focus on controller based systems.
- Proven experience in managing wireless systems and physical installation.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent project management abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of wireless protocols as applied to client implementations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong laboratory methodology, metrics and integration techniques; Experience with flow charts and programming logic; documenting lab results and generating various reports
