Built Mighty / Little Rhino is a remote US-based Web Development company focused on building great software and solutions for our customers. With 20 employees around the US supporting custom Laravel applications and helping e-commerce companies achieve more with WooCommerce and WordPress.

We are looking for a skilled and experienced developer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software applications. You will work closely with our team of designers, project managers, and other developers to ensure that our software products meet the needs of our clients.

You will be working remotely to add features and build new WordPress and WooCommerce stores. These are small businesses that need great attention to detail and experienced help in making sure their platform can handle their growing business.

This W2 position has flexible hours ranging from 30-40 hours a week depending on availability and skill level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with other members of the development team to plan and implement features and functionality
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code
  • Test and debug software to ensure it is free of errors and performs as expected
  • Deliver accurate estimates for work.
  • Debug issues in high-risk situations.
  • Continuously learn and stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and best practices in software development
  • Assist with the maintenance and support of existing software products
  • Maintain communication with developers, project managers, and clients
  • Meet with clients during the discovery phase of project cycle
  • Ensure proper documentation through GitHub and Jira
  • Escalate issues to Development Lead, Project Manager, or clients.  
Requirements
  • 4+ years of experience as a developer
  • 2+ years of experience creating, maintaining and improving WordPress and/or WooCommerce Plugins and Themes
  • Must have backend development experience
  • Must have experience with WooCommerce
  • Experience with Laravel a plus
  • Solid knowledge of PHP, HTML/CSS, MySQL, JavaScript, webpack, and Git
  • Experience working with Agile methodologies
  • Knowledge of web development technologies (e.g. HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Experience with software testing, debugging and troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g. Git)
  • Must be US based. Currently not accepting candidates from New York.
  • Must be able to develop fully remote in the Cloud. Experience with GitHub, GitHub Codespaces and Docker.
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence a plus
