Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for a Work Movement Project Manager to join our Supply Chain Mobility team in Auburn, Washington.
The Work Movement Project Manager will lead transfers of parts, subassemblies, tooling, and process scope between suppliers, sites, and process owners. You will define project scope, plan and execute multiple concurrent movements, and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery while balancing schedule, cost, and quality. You will manage project schedules, budgets, deliverables, and accounting, and monitor execution to meet requirements. You will identify and manage risks, opportunities, and issues, lead Technology Readiness Assessments, and use management tools to track progress and support decisions. You will build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, align teams around shared goals, and validate design constraints to guide mitigation and realization plans. Position Responsibilities:
- Own and execute a portfolio of work movements, including transfers of parts, subassemblies, tooling, and process scope between suppliers, sites, or process owners
- Define project scope, design and plan projects, and lead project teams to achieve on-time, on-budget delivery
- Manage multiple concurrent movements while balancing schedule, cost, and quality objectives
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, deliverables, and project accounting
- Monitor and control project execution, ensuring deliverables meet requirements and project appraisal criteria
- Identify, solicit, and evaluate risks, opportunities, and issues across multiple disciplines
- Lead Technology Readiness Assessments and other risk management activities to validate readiness and mitigation plans
- Recommend and help implement the best mitigation, opportunity realization, and issue-resolution plans
- Establish and track performance metrics to monitor risk, opportunity, and issue burndown over time
- Use risk/opportunity/issue management tools (e.g., iso-risk charts/plots, waterfall) to support program execution and decision-making
- Build collaborative relationships and rapport with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate work goals
- Leverage organizational dynamics to promote program objectives and align stakeholders around a shared vision
- Validate design constraints (technical, cost, schedule) and guide other groups' mitigation and realization plans
- Optimize team contributions through coaching, coordination, and resource alignment
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- 2+ years of experience in Project Management from within a Manufacturing or Operations environment
- Experience communicating clearly with team members, customers and leaders at every level
- Ability to travel up to 10%
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Experience managing supplier performance
- Experience with improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, systematic problem solving)
- Experience with strategy development and execution
