About the Role:

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Workato Integration Architect to lead the design, architecture, and implementation of complex integrations across business systems using the Workato platform. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in iPaaS-led architecture and understands modern API-driven ecosystems. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to define integration strategies, build reusable recipes, and promote best practices across automation workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and architect scalable, secure, and maintainable integrations using Workato across enterprise systems (ERP, CRM, HRIS, ITSM, etc.)

  • Lead development of advanced recipes, connectors, and API orchestration flows to support business needs

  • Establish governance and lifecycle standards for Workato environments (e.g., folders, version control, naming conventions)

  • Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and stakeholders to translate integration requirements into technical specifications

  • Mentor Workato developers on recipe design, error handling, and platform optimization

  • Define and implement best practices for error management, recipe modularization, scheduling, and testing automation

  • Participate in discovery workshops, integration assessments, and roadmap planning

  • Integrate with cloud and on-premise systems using REST/SOAP APIs, webhooks, event triggers, and the Workato SDK

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 7+ years in integration architecture, including 3+ years of direct experience with Workato

  • Proven success delivering complex integrations across platforms like Salesforce, NetSuite, Workday, SAP, ServiceNow, Jira, and Slack

  • Strong knowledge of API design (REST, OAuth2, webhooks), data formats (JSON, XML), and middleware patterns

  • Hands-on experience implementing Workato best practices, including recipe versioning, modular design, and environment management

  • Proficiency in building custom connectors with the Workato SDK

  • Familiarity with automation design patterns and reusable orchestration frameworks

  • Experience using Workato tools: Recipe Functions, Lookup Tables, Data Pills, Jobs Reports, Workspace management

  • Scripting or programming background (JavaScript, Python, etc.) is a plus

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Workato Automation Pro II or III Certification

  • Experience with Git-based version control and CI/CD practices for Workato

  • Background in enterprise IT systems and data architecture

  • Experience with other iPaaS tools like MuleSoft, Boomi, Celigo, or Tray.io
