Snowball is looking for a YouTube Video Editor to shape and execute video formats for Duolingo, the world’s most popular learning platform.

The Opportunity

Duolingo is expanding its YouTube presence. As the Video Editor, you’ll craft long-form, YouTube-first content with strong pacing, clear narrative structure, and an emphasis on retention. You'll blend Duolingo’s playful voice with visually compelling storytelling, helping build one of the most engaging education channels on YouTube.

You’ll work closely with Snowball’s YouTube growth experts (27M+ subs, 110B+ views) and Duolingo’s internal teams to experiment with formats, refine storytelling, and deliver content that resonates with millions.

What You’ll Do
  • Edit YouTube-first educational content that aligns with Duolingo’s brand, mission, and learning philosophy.

  • Craft narratives with strong pacing, clear hooks, and retention-driven creative choices.

  • Deliver polished long-form content, cutdowns, short-form clips, and community assets.

  • Work with producers and creative partners to refine story arcs and experiment with new formats.

  • Maintain organized project timelines and file structures for consistent, efficient delivery.

  • Use performance insights to evolve editing style and optimize content for engagement and reach.

What You Bring
  • 3–5+ years of professional editing experience with a strong portfolio demonstrating storytelling craft (required).

  • Deep proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, or comparable editing software. Experience with graphic design or YouTube thumbnail creation (design + typography) is highly preferred.

  • Strong understanding of YouTube pacing, structure, retention tactics, and platform best practices.

  • Experience editing educational, narrative, branded, or documentary-style content.

  • Detail-oriented with excellent taste, creative instincts, and a high bar for polish.

  • Collaborative and adaptable, comfortable working in fast-moving production cycles.

  • Passionate about making learning fun, accessible, and visually compelling for global audiences.
