Working under minimal supervision, the Client Executive is an experienced, enterprise level, direct contributor salesperson responsible for selling all Merative Software and Data solutions across a defined client book of business within the United States.  This role requires a thorough understanding of the clinical trials industry; leads the sales pursuit strategies for their named accounts; and leverages the full spectrum of Merative’s resources to deliver value to benefits consultants, brokers, benefit administration and point solutions so they can achieve their business objectives.

Essential Job Duties 

  • Build relationships with target departments and executives in benefit consultants, third-party administrators, and payer tech to identify needs, map to Merative offerings and close sales. 

  • Focus on continual development and progression of a pipeline of new business opportunities with clients in the assigned territory.  

  • Build and execute “go to market” strategies to drive sales in assigned sales region and effectively and strategically qualify and win opportunities. 

  • Deliver sales to meet or exceed annual quota within assigned territory. 

  • Assume primary responsibility for the total customer relationship throughout the length of the contract. Manage and monitor client satisfaction, including recommending strategies to continuously enhance client satisfaction 

  • Effectively build relationships, collaborate, and partner with a cross-functional Merative team 

  • Effectively engage in complex negotiations with clients for renewals and contracting 

  • Maintain regular contact with senior and executive-level decision makers – utilizing both on-site sales visits and remote communication for assigned prospects.  

  • Represent Merative at industry conferences and meetings. 

 

Required Experience and Skills:

  • 5+ years’ successful track record selling healthcare solutions to employer C-Suite and department leadership teams   

  • Consultative selling skills 

  • Proven ability to build sales pipeline and progress opportunities through each stage of the sales cycle from lead generation to contract execution  

  • Has both a tactical/operational and strategic orientation. 

  • Strong ability to work independently, while is also a team player 

 

Preferred Experience Skills:

  • 10+ years’ successful track record selling healthcare solutions to employer and benefit consultant C-Suite and department leadership teams  

  • Solid understanding of employee benefits, especially including health and wellness 

 

Preferred Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree
