Weekly Refresh: Google’s Expanding in Seattle, LevelTen Energy Expands to Europe

Google purchased another 400,000 square feet of office space. Google will open the Kirkland space to employees some time next year. The company already has 4,500 employees and 2 million square feet of office space in the Seattle region — so the new campus will add to an already-huge presence in Seattle. [Built In Seattle]

LevelTen Energy announced its expansion to Europe. The Seattle-based energy startup has created a platform that acts as a renewable energy procurement marketplace, where entities can buy or sell renewable power purchase agreements. With the European expansion, the company’s platform has projects available in the UK, Ireland, France, Spain, the Netherlands, Germany and Italy. [Press release]

Seattle-based Subsplash acquired Custom Church Apps. Like the name suggests, Custom Church Apps does mobile app development for churches. Subsplash is hoping to roll the company into its platform, which creates technology and engagement tools for churches. Over 10,000 organizations use the Subsplash platform. [Press release]

Evrnu closed a $9.1 million Series A. Evrnu creates textiles and fabrics that are recycled, recyclable and biodegradable. Its NuCycl fabric can be used to create clothing, and when it’s no longer needed, it can be broken down at the molecular level and then reassembled into new clothing. Evrnu recently partnered with Adidas and Stella McCartney for a line of sportswear. [Press release]

Barn2Door raised $3.4 million in funding. The Seattle startup makes e-commerce software for farmers in order to connect them with customers and help them sell their crops. Farms from over 40 states use Barn2Door’s services. The company has raised over $4.5 million since it started in 2015. [GeekWire]
