 About The Role:

Stackline is looking for an Accounting Manager to own the month-end close, financial statements, and to be a trusted, visible partner to our auditors, employees, and the finance team. This is a hands-on technical role and a relationship role in equal measure.

This is a hybrid role (4 days/week in office) at our Seattle office.

What You Will Do:
  • Own the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close, including timeline, task assignments, reviews, and sign-off, ensuring accuracy and consistency of reported results.
  • Research and document US GAAP technical memos, including revenue recognition (ASC 606), lease accounting, and R&D capitalization, and explain conclusions clearly to non-accounting stakeholders.
  • Prepare year-end US GAAP financial statements and footnotes.
  • Coordinate audit requests with external auditors, and research and resolve audit issues raised.
  • Own the integrity of key accounting processes by understanding transaction flows and internal controls, and recommending efficiency improvements.
  • Lead accounting projects from scoping through implementation, including documentation and training.
  • Perform special projects assigned by the Finance lead.

Who We Are Looking For:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
  • 5+ years of accounting and finance experience, preferably in a mix of professional services (public accounting) and high-growth companies.
  • CPA, highly preferred
  • Hands-on ASC 606 experience with subscription revenue; SaaS experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of internal controls and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to define, implement, and manage the creation of new processes.
  • Ability to leverage technology to invent, improve, and scale.
  • Demonstrated experience as a primary point of contact for external auditors.
  • A track record of explaining technical accounting to non-finance audiences, in writing and in person.

Bonus Points If You Have:
  • MBA or other advanced business degree.

And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
