As a Product Engineer for Jellyfish Research, you will support our team's mission to deliver product innovation and cutting-edge research. You'll contribute to product strategy through explorations and rapid prototyping with AI technologies, stay ahead of AI trends, analyze how AI technology is driving changes in our customers and their engineers, and translate findings into compelling narratives.

Most importantly, you will be part of a highly talented team working in a fun, challenging, and collaborative environment, building a fast-growing business led by experienced entrepreneurs and backed by top-tier investment partners.

Let's talk about what you'll do:

  • Engage in rapid prototyping and create tech demos to showcase possibilities, inform product strategy, and support marketing and investor relations.

  • Analyze developer behavioral data related to the usage of AI coding assistants and agents to uncover key insights and trends.

  • Develop compelling narratives, presentations, and reports based on data analysis to support marketing, business development, and partnership initiatives.

  • Continuously track, evaluate, and experiment with new developments, tools, and advancements in the AI landscape.

  • Collaborate effectively with product managers, designers, engineers, and other stakeholders across the organization.

Let's talk about what you need to excel:

  • You have a strong interest in understanding user behavior, particularly how developers interact with new technologies.

  • You are a competent coder who is comfortable experimenting with and learning new tools, particularly AI.

  • You have some experience in data analysis or data science, with the ability to conduct basic quantitative analysis and interpret data intelligently in order to solve problems, tell compelling stories, and drive decision-making.

  • You demonstrate exceptional creativity and critical thinking skills.

  • You are passionate about AI and eager to dive deep into the space, follow trends, and apply new learnings.

  • You are scrappy, flexible, practical, and outcome-oriented, willing to pick up the tools needed to get the job done effectively.

  • You love learning new things quickly and are comfortable working in a fast-paced, iterative environment.

  • You have strong communication skills and enjoy working as part of a cross-functional team.

Bonus points if you have experience with:

  • Specific AI coding tools, platforms, or APIs (e.g. Copilot, Cursor, MCP, LLM APIs).

  • Rapid prototyping tools or frameworks (e.g. Replit).

  • Data visualization tools.

  • Presenting research findings to diverse audiences (technical and non-technical).

  • Our engineering technology stack (Python 3, Django, Postgres, AWS).

A list of job experiences and qualification requirements is great, but humility, a performance-driven attitude, and a team-player approach are most important to us. We love to have fun and win in the process. We only hire people who have a passion for building great companies in an environment where a sense of humor is a must.

Occasional travel may be required.

Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the US. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time.

Let’s talk about us!
This is all about you, but you want to know a little about us. Jellyfish enables leaders to effectively build AI-integrated engineering teams, align engineering decisions with business initiatives and deliver the right software efficiently and on time. AI tools alone won’t transform your org—Jellyfish shows you what’s working, what’s not, and how to build high-performing teams that know how to use AI the right way.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
