About the Role
We are seeking an Android OS Developer with deep expertise in MediaTek-based devices and strong experience working with Android OS. The primary responsibility of this role is to integrate and optimize Mobile Device Management (MDM) capabilities across our custom Android builds. You will work closely with platform engineers, OEM partners, and security teams to ensure robust device control, policy enforcement, and enterprise-grade reliability.
What you’ll be doing:
- Integrate Mobile Device Management (MDM) frameworks and APIs into custom Android builds for MediaTek platforms.
- Implement, extend, and validate Android Enterprise, Device Owner, and Profile Owner features on Android 14–17.
- Modify and enhance AOSP, system services, and vendor components to support advanced device management policies.
- Integrate MDM for Android GMS certified device
- Debug system-level issues related to MDM, provisioning, OTA updates, and device policy enforcement.
- Optimize system performance, stability, and security for enterprise deployments.
- Develop internal tools, scripts, and documentation to support provisioning, testing, and certification.
- Hands-on validation of MDM behavior across multiple device SKUs and Android versions.
What you bring to the table:
- 3–7+ years of experience in Android system development, AOSP customization, or embedded Android engineering.
- Strong understanding of Android framework, system services, permissions, and security models.
- Hands-on experience with MediaTek chipsets, BSP integration, and vendor-specific customization.
- Proficiency with Android Enterprise APIs, DevicePolicyManager, and enterprise provisioning flows.
- Experience working with Android 14, 15, or 16 (U, V, or W) — especially changes to security, provisioning, and background restrictions.
- Strong debugging skills using ADB, logcat, kernel logs, and platform-level tools.
- Proficiency with Java, Kotlin, and C/C++ for system-level development.
- Familiarity with Git, repo, build systems, and CI/CD workflows.
- Ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity while maintaining strong independent technical judgment
Bonus points
- Experience integrating with commercial MDM platforms (e.g., VMware Workspace ONE, SOTI, MobileIron, Hexnode).
- Knowledge of SELinux, Verified Boot, and secure provisioning.
- Experience with custom ROM development or OEM/ODM Android engineering.
- Understanding of OTA update mechanisms, FOTA/SOTA, and enterprise deployment pipelines.
- Prior work with MediaTek proprietary services, AT commands, or modem-side integrations.

The anticipated salary range is $120,000 - $150,000 USD, with the offer determined by specialized skills and professional experience.
