Position Overview:
Reporting to the Vice President, Controller, the Assistant Controller role is an exciting opportunity for a leader with a growth mindset who thrives in a fast-paced, global organization. The Assistant Controller is a hands-on, highly motivated, and automation-driven technical accounting leader who will ensure the success of our accounting function. You will oversee the companies’ accounting operations, technical accounting, and reporting. The Assistant Controller will lead a multi-location team responsible for all aspects of accounting.
Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations including general ledger (GL), inventory, fixed assets, intercompany transactions, software capitalization, debt, and equity.
- Oversee, support, and develop the global accounting team while driving efficiency and automation to meet the demands of our high-growth business.
- Lead accurate and timely month-end close and reporting processes, including consolidation, FX revaluation, and translation.
- Serve as the technical accounting expert; oversee the development and adoption of accounting policies and processes to ensure compliance with evolving accounting standards and regulations, such as US GAAP, local, and international regulatory requirements.
- Lead the annual external audit and international statutory audit processes.
- Streamline and optimize financial processes, leveraging technology and best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting will be required. Relevant and equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of educational requirements.
- Active CPA license is highly preferred.
Experience:
- 5+ years of public accounting experience or industry experience.
- Hands-on experience with ASC606, ASC 842 and ASC350.
- Advanced Excel skills with the ability to work with lookups, pivot tables, and if-then functions.
- Experience with NetSuite implementation, Bill.com, Expensify and Salesforce preferred, but not required.
- Proven experience in leading and managing a team.
