It will work closely with clients, consultants, designers, cost managers, contractors and internal stakeholders to improve constructability, commercial outcomes and overall project readiness.

  • Establish project execution strategies covering scope, programme, budget, procurement and stakeholder requirements.
  • Lead constructability and design reviews, identifying scope gaps, coordination issues and delivery risks before construction.
  • Drive project readiness and ensure a structured handover from preconstruction to the delivery/construction team.

Programme & Risk Management

  • Establish and challenge master programmes, including design, approvals, procurement and construction milestones.
  • Identify critical-path activities and long-lead procurement requirements.
  • Lead project risk reviews and establish mitigation and contingency actions.
  • Escalate material commercial, design, programme and delivery risks to senior stakeholders.

Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Act as a senior point of contact during the preconstruction phase.
  • Build trusted relationships with clients and key project stakeholders.
  • Lead project workshops and communicate recommendations, trade-offs, decisions and risks clearly to senior stakeholders.
  • Manage expectations across clients, consultants, contractors and internal teams.

Leadership

  • Lead and mentor Project Managers and other project team members.
  • Set project governance, quality and reporting standards.
  • Allocate resources appropriately across projects and support capability development.
  • Promote collaboration between project management, design, cost/commercial and construction teams.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of preconstruction processes, tools and standards.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of relevant project/construction management experience, with significant exposure to preconstruction and progressively senior project leadership roles.
  • Strong experience managing projects from early design through procurement and mobilisation/construction.
  • Demonstrated experience in design management, cost planning, procurement, tendering, programme management and project risk.
  • Experience managing complex projects and multidisciplinary consultant/contractor teams.
  • Strong client-facing and senior stakeholder management experience.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
