Description

We’re looking for a strategic, business-minded Associate Director of Social Media to lead Fiverr’s global social presence. This role goes beyond content and campaigns—you will own how social media drives brand perception, business impact, and market relevance.

You are a platform expert, a strategic thinker, and a strong operator. You understand how each social channel works (algorithmically, culturally, and from a paid/organic perspective), and you know how to translate that into measurable business outcomes—especially in a B2B environment.

You bring leadership maturity: managing teams effectively, influencing senior stakeholders, and proactively identifying risks and opportunities in real time. You don’t just report on performance—you define what matters, surface insights, and drive action across the organization.

This is a full-time hybrid position and requires candidates to work from Fiverr's office 3 times a week.

The salary range for this position is $125,000 - $135,000.

What am I going to do?

Strategic Leadership & Ownership

  • Own and evolve Fiverr’s global social media strategy, aligned with business, brand, and B2B growth objectives
  • Define clear KPIs tied to brand health, engagement quality, and business impact—not just vanity metrics
  • Ensure platform-specific strategies that reflect deep understanding of how each channel operates (LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube, emerging platforms)

Brand Reputation & Social Intelligence

  • Continuously monitor and assess Fiverr’s brand perception across social platforms and communities
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities in real time; proactively surface insights to senior leadership
  • Build structured reporting that highlights what matters: sentiment shifts, narrative trends, competitive positioning, and key conversation drivers
  • Partner cross-functionally (PR, Comms, Customer Experience, Product, etc.) to escalate and address reputation-related insights

Content & Campaign Strategy

  • Lead the development of high-impact, insight-driven content strategies across channels
  • Ensure all campaigns are rooted in clear strategic thinking—not just trends or creative instincts
  • Balance always-on content with high-impact, business-driven campaigns
  • Translate cultural and platform trends into relevant, brand-appropriate opportunities

Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Influence

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing social media team with clear accountability and growth paths
  • Drive strong collaboration across Marketing, Brand, Media, PR, and Regional teams
  • Manage up effectively—communicating strategy, results, and risks with clarity and confidence to senior leadership
  • Set a high bar for execution, ownership, and strategic thinking within the team

Paid Media & Channel Expertise

  • Partner closely with Media teams to align organic and paid social strategies
  • Understand paid media fundamentals (targeting, optimization, creative testing) and how they integrate with organic efforts
  • Ensure social plays a clear role within the broader marketing funnel

AI & Operational Excellence

  • Leverage AI tools and workflows to scale content creation, social listening, reporting, and community management
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities to improve efficiency and insight generation
  • Stay current on emerging AI capabilities within social platforms and marketing tools, applying them in practical, business-driven ways

Reporting & Insights

  • Establish consistent, proactive reporting frameworks (weekly/monthly/quarterly)
  • Move beyond reporting metrics to delivering insights and actionable recommendations
  • Ensure strong planning, prioritization, and execution across multiple initiatives
Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience in social media strategy, with leadership responsibility at a global brand or agency
  • Proven experience building and executing strategic, insight-driven social programs (not just content execution)
  • Deep expertise across major social platforms, including strong understanding of how algorithms, formats, and audience behaviors differ
  • Strong B2B marketing experience and understanding of how social supports business decision-makers
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and develop teams, with a hands-on and accountable leadership style
  • Experience working with and influencing senior leadership
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate data into decisions
  • Experience with brand reputation monitoring, social listening tools, and narrative analysis
  • Solid understanding of paid media fundamentals and integration with organic social
  • AI-savvy, with hands-on experience using AI tools or building workflows/automations to improve social media performance and operations
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
