Job Description

The Associate Medical/Scientific Director, National Medical Partnerships is a strategic scientific leader responsible for direct engagement with Aesthetic Leadership Decision-Making Stakeholders (ALDS) across top national accounts. This highly visible, field-based role leads the development and execution of medical strategies across the portfolio that advance patient care, optimize clinical outcomes, and align with business priorities.

Serving as the primary medical point of contact for national partners, the Associate Director drives evidence generation initiatives and designs and delivers innovative medical education that supports Allergan Aesthetics’ scientific platform and portfolio strategy.

In close collaboration with AMI, Commercial, and R&D, this role translates clinical insights into actionable strategies that strengthen Allergan Aesthetics’ medical leadership in the market.

This opportunity plays a critical role in shaping how large-scale aesthetic practices integrate science into both clinical and business decision-making.

This is a remote position with an emphasis in the Austin, TX (Central) area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Medical Leadership: Own and lead the development and execution of national account medical strategies that align with Allergan Aesthetics’ scientific platform, portfolio priorities, and enterprise objectives.
  • Executive Scientific Engagement: Serve as the primary medical/scientific partner to ALDS, including C-Suite, Medical Advisory Board members and AMI Trainers, delivering fair-balanced, credible, evidence-based dialogue that informs clinical and business decision-making.
  • Cross-Functional Strategy Integration: Partner closely with AMI, Commercial and R&D to ensure streamlined communication, coordinated strategy, aligned educational initiatives and market readiness across the portfolio.
  • Evidence Generation & Insight Translation: Identify evidence generation opportunities, document and communicate meaningful insights into actionable recommendations for internal stakeholders.
  • High-Impact Medical Education: Design and deliver innovative, scalable education aligned to clinical priorities and portfolio differentiation.
  • Strategic Partnership Development & Representation: Build and sustain long-term, trust-based partnerships with key national account/ALDS, providing scientific, clinical, and educational expertise positioning Allergan Aesthetics as a scientific thought partner. This includes supporting key National Account forums (e.g. annual summits, business planning meetings, campus visits, AMI Training Center programs, advisory boards, scientific congresses) where a medical voice is essential.
  • Governance & Compliance Leadership: Ensure all scientific engagement aligns with medical, legal, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

  • Advanced scientific or clinical degree required (MD/DO, PharmD, PhD, DNP, PA or equivalent)
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in Medical Affairs, clinical development, or scientific leadership within aesthetics, dermatology, or related therapeutic areas
  • Demonstrated success engaging and influencing executive-level stakeholders
  • Strong scientific communicator and storyteller, with the ability to translate complex science into clear, compelling, and business-relevant dialogue.
  • Proven cross-functional collaborator with a track record of partnering effectively across Medical Affairs, Commercial, and R&D
  • Solid business acumen with the ability to navigate commercially sophisticated accounts in an effort to align medical strategy with business realities
  • Experience developing and executing medical strategies at the national or key account level
  • Working knowledge of clinical research, evidence generation, and regulatory/compliance standards governing scientific exchange
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, operate autonomously, and influence in a matrixed organization
  • Willingness to travel approximately 25%

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
