Job Description

Exchanging data is increasingly critical to the logistics industry. In order for Expeditors to excel at managing the complex logistics needs of our clients, we are required to provide critical information to support the movement of freight. 

Systems Analysts in the Connected Customer Group directly impact our ability to gain new business and to form lasting bonds with our clients by integrating with their supply chain to provide visibility to inventory in transit.  

Systems Analysts in the Connected Customer Group are responsible for understanding and mapping the EDI (Electronic Data Interchange), or other connectivity methods, that will be exchanged between Expeditors, clients, and third parties. This consists of analyzing client EDI specifications, analyzing business requirements describing how they will provide data, understanding how that information will be used in the context of our business and proprietary systems, collaborating with clients and third parties, and distilling it into a mapping document used by developers to create the code that translates the data.  

This is a fast-paced, collaborative, and multi-faceted position that requires you to be able to manage and drive multiple projects in multiple states. 

Successful Systems Analysts are strong in the following skill sets: business analysis, project management, technical acumen, communication (both written and verbal), organization and team collaboration. 

This position is on-site and will reside in the greater Seattle, WA. area at one of the following locations depending on availability. Candidates must be local or willing to relocate. Relocation assistance is not offered for this position.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent analytical skills  
  • Excellent attention to detail  
  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects and priorities 
  • Ability to design creative solutions to meet the customer's business and technical needs 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills  
  • Ability to take initiative and ownership of work 
  • Understanding of database structures, data files and data relationships

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in transportation/logistics industry  
  • EDI knowledge (X12, EDIFACT, XML, mapping, testing) 
  • BA/BS in Business Administration, MIS, or related degree  
  • Experience with SQL 
  • API knowledge

Additional Information

Expected base salary:  $75,000 to $90,000
