About the Company
At Upway, we’re on a mission to make electric mobility accessible to everyone. As the leading platform for certified, pre-owned e-bikes, we’re redefining how the world moves—sustainably, affordably, and intelligently.
Operating across 8 countries, including France, Germany, and the US, and backed by $65M+ from top-tier investors like Sequoia, Exor Seed, and Korelya Capital, we’re growing fast—and looking for people who are ready to move fast with us.
We’re a global company with local teams in Paris, New York, Los Angeles, Amsterdam, Antwerp, Berlin, and Düsseldorf, united by a shared belief: electric mobility should be the norm, not the exception.
What we are looking for
We are looking for a Business Development Manager to join our US Operations team in Los Angeles and lead the expansion of our partner network. This is a high-ownership role for a true seller—someone who thrives in outbound sales, builds strong relationships, and delivers results in a high-velocity environment.
You’ll be responsible for owning the entire sales cycle—from cold outreach to deal closing—and for sourcing the best second-hand e-bikes in your territory through retail and brand partnerships.

What you will do
  • Own the full partner lifecycle: from cold outreach to onboarding, relationship management, and performance tracking
  • Drive outbound sales: perform high-volume prospecting via email, phone, and in-person visits—especially in the first 1–2 months
  • Build and grow our partner network in your region, including independent bike shops, large retailers, and OEMs
  • Source and negotiate the best possible inventory of second-hand electric bikes
  • Travel extensively to meet with partners, understand their needs, and build long-term relationships
  • Act as the face of Upway in the market—representing our brand with professionalism, integrity, and passion
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, marketing, and product teams to ensure a seamless customer and partner experience
  • Deliver against ambitious targets while maintaining a high standard of execution and attention to detail

What you will need
  • 3+ years of experience in business development, B2B sales, sourcing, or partner management, ideally in a fast-paced or startup environment
  • Proven track record of owning a sales pipeline and closing deals
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills—you know how to build trust and influence decisions
  • High energy and self-motivation—you’re comfortable working independently, managing your time, and pushing through ambiguity
  • Experience with in-person client interactions and field sales
  • Strong organizational skills and bias for action
  • Passion for sustainability, mobility, and making an impact
  • Willingness to travel frequently (up to 50%).

Benefits
You will receive a competitive cash compensation, equity shares in the form of stock options and an annual bonus based on the performance of the company.
Additionally you will receive Comprehensive healthcare coverage, the chance to participate to the company's 401K plan, 15% off your next e-Bike!, monthly phone allowance, Parental leave and Unlimited vacation policy.

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
