Job Description
We are seeking a technical and mission-savvy professional to join the creative and dynamic StratOps Future Capabilities team. This role is ideal for someone who brings both technical depth and exposure to DoD or other U.S. Government mission areas and wants to help shape how BAE Systems Space & Mission Systems (SMS) positions products, technology, and strategy to meet emerging mission needs.
As a Technical Mission Analyst/Architect on the Future Capabilities team, you will help understand and translate government missions into architectures and analyses that guide BAE Systems strategy. Your work will directly support strategic planning, early-phase solution definition, market analysis, and business plans. You'll operate in a dynamic, exploratory environment where curiosity, technical breadth, and mission understanding matter.
What You'll Do:
On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site five days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $118095 - $200762
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.

Your work will directly support strategic planning, early-phase solution definition, market analysis, and business plans. You'll operate in a dynamic, exploratory environment where curiosity, technical breadth, and mission understanding matter.
What You'll Do:
- Develop conceptual architectures and mission level solutions approaches aligned to SMS capabilities and strategic priorities.
- Conduct operational analysis and mission decomposition to understand how customer missions operate today and where gaps or opportunities exist.
- Support strategic initiative teams exploring new markets or strengthening SMS position in existing mission areas.
- Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis to support market assessments, customer needs studies, and long range planning.
- Collaborate with IRAD PIs and technical teams to ensure mission insights drive architectural and investment decisions.
- Contribute to development of mission threads, modeling inputs, early stage CONOPS, and architecture trade studies.
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Perform other duties as necessary.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in a related field plus 6 or more years related experience.
- Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
- A current, active Top Secret security clearance is required with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI.
- Strong technical foundation in engineering, physics, math, computer science, or a related technical field.
- Deep exposure to or experience with relevant DoW, IC, or other U.S. Government mission areas (e.g., space missions, air missions, remote sensing, electronic warfare, intelligence surveillance and reconnaissance, missile defense, command control communications, civil science, etc.).
- Demonstrated ability to perform mission analysis, operational decomposition, or early-stage architecture work.
- Ability to synthesize technical, operational, and strategic information into proposed architectures.
- Pick up advanced technical topics quickly whether its understanding a new quantum approach to sensing or the latest applications of LLMs to software development.
- Excellent communication skills, including presenting technical concepts to mixed audiences.
- Comfort working in an exploratory, iterative, and sometimes unstructured environment.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business teams.
