Position Summary

The Business Intelligence Analyst will own the reporting foundation needed to monitor performance, identify growth opportunities, improve decision-making, and support the broader Neptune Retail Solutions Dollar General partnership.

This highly visible, hands-on role will define business questions, build repeatable reporting assets, validate source data, and translate results into clear insights, recommendations, and tools the team can use to manage the business more effectively. The role will report directly to the VP of Strategy and Sales, Dollar General, and work closely with that leader as a collaborator on the business.

What Success Looks Like

Success means the Dollar General team has a reliable, scalable reporting and analytics foundation that improves business visibility, reduces manual reporting, strengthens forecast accuracy, identifies commercial opportunities, and helps prioritize the accounts, categories, and programs most likely to drive growth.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting, Dashboards & Business Visibility

  • Develop and maintain dashboards and recurring reporting for revenue, sales performance, pipeline, forecast, digital incentive KPIs, offer activity, activations, redemptions, and redemption rate.
  • Create executive-ready reporting for both internal leadership and external Dollar General business reviews, highlighting performance trends, risks, opportunities, and key drivers.

Digital Incentive, Shopper & Commercial Analysis

  • Analyze performance across DG Shopper offers, National Manufacturer offers, Xcodes, manufacturers, brands, categories, and programs to identify drivers of activations, redemptions, revenue, and business impact.
  • Identify growth, decline, lapsed business, new business, and whitespace opportunities to inform sales strategy, client conversations, and account prioritization.

Forecasting, Financial Reporting & Business Partnership

  • Partner with Finance and sales leadership on revenue forecasting and reporting that compares actual performance, forecast, plan, and prior-year results while highlighting key variance drivers.
  • Support Dollar General revenue-share reporting, reconciliation, billing questions, stakeholder requests, and related financial analysis in partnership with Finance and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in business intelligence, sales analytics, commercial analytics, financial analysis, or a related discipline.
  • Strong experience developing business reporting, dashboards, BI tools, and analytical assets.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, complex formulas, data modeling, large dataset analysis, and structured quality checks.
  • Strong understanding of sales performance, revenue reporting, forecasting, and financial KPIs.
  • Ability to analyze and reconcile data across multiple sources and translate findings into concise, actionable recommendations.
  • Ability to independently manage recurring reporting while responding quickly to ad hoc business needs.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to tailor analytical findings for senior leadership and client stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Analytics, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience supporting retail, CPG, shopper marketing, retail media, promotions, digital incentives, or loyalty programs.
  • Experience analyzing manufacturer, brand, category, or retailer-level sales performance.
  • Experience working directly with sales organizations and translating analytics into commercial opportunities.
