Microsoft's Cloud business continues to expand, and the Cloud Supply Chain (CSCP) organization is responsible for enabling the infrastructure underlying this growth including AI (artificial intelligence)

The CSCP Organization is responsible for traditional supply chain functions such as Plan, Source, Make, Deliver, but also manages supportability(spares), decommissioning and disposition of Data center assets worldwide. We deliver the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's over 200 online businesses including Bing, MSN (Microsoft Network), Office 365, Xbox Live, Skype, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform for external customers. Our infrastructure comprises a large global portfolio of over 200 datacenters supporting services for over 1 billion customers in over 90 countries.
We are looking for a Chief Of Staff who reports to the CVP (Corporate Vice President) of Cloud Supply Chain and has a staff that is accountable for defining, driving, and orchestrating across the larger organization for business strategy, weekly/monthly metrics, quarterly business reviews, budget and headcount processes, intern and people programs, org-wide learning platform, Lean center of excellence, internal and external communications. This role works across LT (leadership team) leaders, AHSI (Azure Hardware Systems & Infrastructure) executive office and cloud supply chain business managers to deliver results on business priorities.

Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning
- Insights Framework: Build the framework for the analysis behind company-wide strategic decisions related to all functions as they impact CSCP.
- Business Rhythms and governance: Run organizational planning and business rhythm process in alignment with all other functions to develop vision, mission, goals, objectives and key results (OKRs), resource and capital plans, etc.
- Big Picture Alignment: Ensure CSCP vision is aligned to AHSI and C+AI goals developing partnerships to gain alignment for execution.
- Strategic Programs
- Special Projects Identify and implement new initiatives with key stakeholders to develop, champion, and launch new initiatives to become a world class supply chain
- Internal Consultant: Act and operate as an internal consultant, working directly with multiple stakeholders, across the value chain to be able to optimize organizations performance.
- Project Management: Take complete ownership of projects/ programs from cradle to grave:
- Business case, scope, cost, schedule, action cycles, risks, issues, decisions, interdependencies and milestones.
- Cross-Functional Management
- Facilitate Conversation: Create opportunities for synergies across the business ecosystem on topics such as developing business models, organizational design and cross-functional initiatives to drive long term business sustainability.
- Decision Making: Build consensus among cross-functional teams and influence decision making with leadership audiences.
- Build Relationships: Build productive and positive relationships across the organization at all levels to drive influence.
- Holistic View & Alignment: Develop and utilize frameworks to help structure the team's thinking, drive visibility, and facilitate alignment.
- Operations
- Execution: Lead day to day operations and deliver strategy and operational plans from the planning process against the strategic vision for the company.
- Operational Cadence/Rhythm of Business: Establish an operating rhythm of the business to ensure the organization is running effectively and efficiently to meet goals and objectives
- Business Process Improvement: Manage centralize repository of processes and improve processes to minimize complexities and optimize to promote effective operations.
- Budget: Plan and manage budget including annual, quarterly and monthly expense tracking.
- ROI: Partner with Finance and the business to manage, analyze and review organizational budgets, measure & track ROI (returns on investment), and reconcile and explain discrepancies.
- Reporting, Metrics, and KPIs (Key Performance Indicators)
- Collection & Insights: Gather and analyze data, formulate and test hypotheses, synthesize findings, develop go-forward plans and help drive and translate recommendations into results.
- Reporting: Author, manage, and deliver executive level reporting, including weekly, monthly, quarterly status reports to manage risks and issues and improve team communication and collaboration.
- Metrics: Lead creation, identification, and insights of metrics to improve business performance and drive business actions.
- OKRs: Develop and track key OKR (Objectives and Key Results) across the team to track strategic goals, milestones and accomplishments.
- People:
- Resource Planning & Management: Implement and maintain resource management system to effectively manage resource utilization.
- Culture & Engagement: Maintain harmony and ensure shared responsibility of business objectives with focus on team development and employee career growth.
- Recruiting & Onboarding: Help with recruiting operations and oversee new employee onboarding and training programs.
- Training: Engage employees through meaningful training and growth opportunities.
- Learning
- Early in Career (EIC) + Intern programs: Ensure org planning is inclusive of Early in Career talent, programs are in place to support talent. This includes United States and India internship programs
- Org talent programs:
- Ensure there are resources and framework to support SCORE (Supply Chain Operations Rotation Experience) which is a 3-year rotation program for new supply chain hires
- Ensure there are resources and framework to support leader growth programs such as Launch for growing first-level managers from upper-level talent
- Lean COE (Center of Excellence): Grow the Lean COE and knowledge of Lean + six sigma across the organization. Support cross-org/high impact projects that require Lean workshops and facilitation.
- Learning Platform for Cloud SC: Grow Viva Learning platform and establish the roadmap and resourcing to support Cloud SC Academy set-up/growth.
- Communications and Change Management
- Communication Calendar: Create, manage, and maintain specific communications and cadence for All Hands meetings, QBRs (Quarterly Business Reviews), team meetings, ongoing communications, etc.
- Framework: Establish a structure and cadence of program and function reviews to increase visibility, drive alignment, and resolve blockers.
- External Communications: Support external brand management for cloud supply chain. Manage external speaking content, articles, Gartner relationship and award submissions.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 8+ years experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related roles
- OR equivalent experience.
- 6+ years management (e.g., people, project, process, vendor, change) experience.
Other Requirements:
The ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Industry experience working in a large Supply Chain organization understanding E2E business complexities
- Management and people leadership experience
- Microsoft Suite: PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.
- Finance/Accounting tools like QuickBooks, NetSuite, etc.
- Knowledge of Hardware Products and Supply Chain
- Led and managed ERP system execution at scale (SAP, Oracle)
- Attention to detail, experience at strategic execution
- Successfully collaborate across multiple teams and levels
- Proven track record in project and business management
- Experience leading and executing projects in a complex organizational environment and work on several diverse projects at the same time
- Demonstrated analytical, financial acumen and communication skills with the ability to influence across non-direct reporting teams
- Ability to translate ideas into clear, high impact communications (e.g., emails, papers)
- Ability to maintain good judgment in fast-paced, high-stress environments or
- Ability to excel in an ambiguous environment
Business Management M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $129,200 - $273,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $162,000 - $299,400 per year.
