GENERAL INTRODUCTION:

The Archbishop, visible principle of unity in his archdiocese, is called to build up the particular Church unceasingly in the communion of all its members, and to ensure that their diverse gifts and ministries, in union with the universal Church, serve to build up all the faithful and to spread the Gospel. (Apostolorum Successores 8).  He must take care that all the affairs which belong to the administration of the whole archdiocese are duly coordinated and are ordered to attain more suitably the good of the portion of the people of God entrusted to him.” (Apostolorum Successores 177).

Each position employed in the Chancery helps to extend the ministry of the Archbishop in particular ways as outlined in the position description.

 

GENERAL SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL PURPOSE:

The Christifideles Coordinator facilitates the operation of all offerings within the Christifideles formation program for lay ecclesial ministers, and collaborates effectively with the Lifelong Formation team to form and equip lay men and women for ministry.

 

ESSENTIAL POSITION DUTIES:

  1. Under the guidance of the Director of Lifelong Formation, coordinates the implementation of all Christifideles offerings, including master’s level and certificate programs. Collaborates with the Lifelong Formation team to support the department’s mission, services, and programs in support of lay formation.
  2. Collaborates with the Director of Lifelong Formation to develop content for certificate offerings and evaluate the effectiveness of programming designed to form lay ecclesial ministers, promote lay ecclesial ministry, and help lay Catholics recognize their call to serve the Church.
  3. Manages record-keeping for all Christifideles programming, including inquirers, applicants, and current and former students. Develops and maintains a system that makes these records accessible to all those who need them.
  4. Manages the planning and logistics of in-person classes, workshops, retreats, and graduations/commissioning ceremonies.
  5. Serves as point of contact for resources and inquiries related to Christifideles and ensures that students in master’s and certificate programs stay on track with learning objectives and milestones.
  6. Collaborates with Lifelong Formation and Communications teams to develop and distribute information and promotional tools for lay formation.
  7. Provides administrative support by scheduling classes and events, updating and maintaining web content, and tracking financial records, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  8. Maintains an environment of inclusion, trust, and acceptance that embraces people and families from different cultural, racial and ethnic backgrounds.
  9. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Primary

  1. Willingness and ability to support the mission of the Church by extending the ministry of the Archbishop.
  2. Ability and desire to use God-given gifts and talents in service of the local Church in support of the collaboration between lay and ordained Ministers.
  3. Is a practicing Catholic, completely faithful to the Church and the Magisterium, with a strong and disciplined prayer life.
  4. Possesses a heart for the New Evangelization and lay ecclesial ministry.
  5. Proficiency in Spanish language. Bilingual preferred.

Education:

  1. Bachelor’s degree required. 

Experience:

  1. Experience with event planning, lay ministry, and formation programs.
  2. Knowledge of creating and maintaining databases.
  3. Experience working with people with varying ecclesial, economic, racial, and cultural backgrounds.
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).

Other Elements:

  1. Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written, ideally in more than one language.
  2. Demonstrated competency in digital communications tools.
  3. Strong demonstrated competence in interpersonal and public relations skills including the ability to work collaboratively with Chancery staff, school personnel, pastors, and parish ministers.
  4. Ability to work on evenings and weekends.
  5. Ability to provide own transportation, must possess a valid Washington State driver’s license.


Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications.
