Job Description:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Operations Director at DTN!

Aa the Commercial Operations Director you will lead and optimize key operational functions that support revenue generation across Sales, Marketing, and Customer Experience. The role oversees Operations Business Partners, Deal Desk, Marketing Operations, and Customer Experience Operations, ensuring efficient process execution, strategic alignment, and operational effectiveness. The role will enhance forecasting accuracy, sales process efficiency, deal execution, and overall go-to-market support while aligning with business priorities. 

What you will be responsible for: 

Strategic Planning & Business Alignment 

  • Develop and execute a cohesive commercial operations strategy supporting revenue growth. 

  • Align cross-functional processes to ensure Sales, Marketing, and Customer Experience operate efficiently. 

  • Use data-driven insights to influence executive decision-making. 

Operational Excellence & Process Optimization 

  • Implement scalable processes for sales execution, deal approvals, and marketing campaign efficiency. 

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives across commercial operations functions. 

  • Ensure best practices are applied in sales enablement, deal desk policies, and customer lifecycle management. 

Forecasting & Data-Driven Decision-Making 

  • Establish and maintain forecasting and pipeline processes. 

  • Work with Operations Business Partners and Deal Desk to improve forecasting accuracy and predictability. 

  • Ensure integrity of pipeline and forecast reporting across all business units. 

  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational effectiveness. 

Leadership & Team Development 

  • Lead and develop the Commercial Operations team, ensuring standardization and best practices across Business Partnering, Deal Desk, Marketing Ops, and Customer Experience Ops. 

  • Build a high-performing team by providing mentorship and career development opportunities. 

  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and cross-functional teamwork. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration 

  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success leadership to drive operational efficiencies and business outcomes. 

  • Ensure coordination between Marketing Operations and Sales Operations for seamless demand generation execution. 

  • Collaborate with Finance on revenue-related policies and deal structuring. 

 

What you will bring to the role: 

  • Proven experience in commercial operations, sales operations, or a related field within a B2B or SaaS environment. 

  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing cross-functional teams. 

  • Expertise in forecasting, pipeline management, and sales process optimization. 

  • Knowledge of pricing strategies, deal execution, and contract management best practices. 

  • Experience working with CRM (Salesforce) and marketing automation tools (HubSpot) to drive operational efficiency. 

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data insights into business decisions. 

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

The targeted hiring base pay range for this position is between $116,250 and $155,000. DTN is a pay for performance organization, which means there is the opportunity to advance your compensation with performance over time. The actual base pay offered for this position will be dependent upon many factors, including but not limited to: prior work experience, training/education, transferable skills, business needs, internal equity and applicable laws. The targeted hiring base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for market competitive variable pay and benefits.
