Job Description

We don't just sell cutting-edge fashion and accessories, we create it. Our talented fashion design team — Nordstrom Made— develops, designs, produces and sources 50-plus private Nordstrom labels. From traditional to trendy, this team is shaping the styles and looks our customer love.

Responsible for delivering brand-informed seasonal concepts with leadership oversight. Understands how product design, market analysis and data analytics influence + evolve retail strategies at a brand level. Identifies and curates color pallets, trends, print/pattern, fabric and silhouette information for specific brands.  Works with Sr. Manager of Concept and Concept Director to produce and communicate conceptual stories on a seasonal basis. Collaborates with Design Director and partners on the implementation and execution of conceptual ideas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivers seasonal concepts at a brand-level to Nordstrom Made partners, kicking off the design process and influencing brand direction.
  • Conducts color and trend research to support seasonal product priorities and merchant strategies.
  • Reinforces conceptual/trend information as new intel becomes available, always keeping a pulse on fashion publications, social media and the runways.
  • Competitively shops the market to understand the landscape, reporting back key findings to CFTs.
  • Influences product decisions during the development and assortment phases to ensure relevant, engaging offerings for our customer. Has confidence to identify where assortments have strayed away from the original concept and can provide recommendations to course-correct.
  • Identifies and champions efficiencies across multiple category reports to ensure team success, reduce workload where possible by streamlining research.
  • Has the ability to support multiple projects and timelines concurrently throughout each season.
  • Shows awareness for how inadequate research or missed due dates can hinder the design development process.
  • Is comfortable presenting to Sr Leadership and has the ability to tailor the conversation to the audience.
  • Supports Sr. Manager in fostering partnerships with CFT's and oversees catering content to meet their needs.
  • Seasonal travel for research and/or product development.

Qualifications:

  • Strong design and conceptual skills.
  • Strong knowledge of textiles, artwork techniques & fabric.
  • Proficient in Illustrator and capable in Microsoft, Photoshop, InDesign, Miro, etc.
  • Positive and passionate with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Desire to work in a collaborative environment and build strong relationships with business partners & teammates.
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • College degree in Fashion Design, Textiles or a related field.
  • 5+ Years relevant experience preferred

Pay Range Details

The pay range(s) below has been provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different for other locations. 
Pay offers are dependent on the location, as well as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

$93,500.00 - $155,000.00 Annual
