WHAT YOU WILL DO:

As a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer Consultant, you will help our client design, implement, and support scalable cloud solutions within Microsoft Azure. This role combines hands-on engineering with architectural thinking, enabling you to build modern, secure, and automated infrastructure that supports enterprise applications and services.

You will work across networking, compute, storage, and identity components to deliver end-to-end cloud solutions while leveraging infrastructure-as-code practices and CI/CD automation. In close collaboration with application teams, security, and operations, you will ensure that cloud environments are resilient, well-governed, and aligned with best practices. Your ability to integrate automation, enforce security controls, and optimize cloud architecture will be key to delivering production-ready solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and implement cloud infrastructure solutions in Microsoft Azure across compute, storage, networking, and identity services
  • Architect end-to-end cloud environments that support both application and platform components
  • Build and manage Azure networking configurations, including virtual networks, private connectivity, DNS, and hybrid connectivity solutions
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code solutions using Terraform, including reusable modules and state management practices
  • Create and support CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions to automate infrastructure deployment and updates
  • Implement and maintain Azure governance frameworks, including policies, management groups, monitoring, and logging
  • Apply cloud security best practices, including identity and access management, network segmentation, and secrets management
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and reliable cloud solutions
  • Troubleshoot and optimize cloud environments to improve performance, reliability, and cost efficiency

ABOUT YOU:

  • Your values:
    • Integrity: You believe in doing the right thing, even when it's uncomfortable, seemingly inefficient, or costly.
    • Purposefulness: You have a desire to serve others with your skillset and an openness to continuous learning and growth.
    • Ownership: You stick to your commitments, follow up with action, and seek clarity in communication & expectations.

YOUR EXPERIENCE:

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience working with Microsoft Azure cloud environments
  • Strong knowledge of Azure networking concepts, including private connectivity and hybrid networking patterns
  • Experience designing and deploying cloud architectures that support both front-end and back-end services
  • Proficiency with Terraform, including module development, remote state management, and infrastructure automation
  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, particularly using GitHub Actions or similar tools
  • Solid understanding of cloud security principles, including identity management, access controls, and data protection
  • Experience implementing governance and monitoring solutions within Azure environments
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting or managing on-premises infrastructure (e.g., Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware)
  • Familiarity with hybrid cloud architectures and on-premises to cloud connectivity
  • Experience with monitoring, access management, and infrastructure lifecycle operations
  • Azure certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-305, or AZ-500
  • Exposure to additional infrastructure-as-code or configuration management tools

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
