Lead full-cycle recruiting across technical and non-technical roles, partner with hiring managers on talent strategy, leverage AI and systems to scale sourcing and operations, improve workflows and recruiting infrastructure, maintain organized trackers and documentation, and support broader recruiting projects to meet startup hiring needs.
At Wyze, we make smart home technology accessible to everyone. We're known for disrupting markets with high-quality, affordable products - from cameras to lighting to sensors and more. We believe technology should simplify life, not complicate it. We’re a fast-moving, customer-obsessed team driven by curiosity and powered by data.
The Opportunity
With continued growth, we’re hiring a contract senior recruiter who is excited about recruiting and building in a startup environment. Chances are, you are a generalist who has worked a short time in big tech but found yourself more passionate about startups where you’ve built the foundational elements of the business and recruited across a wide-variety of roles. You enjoy full-cycle recruiting and being a strong partner to hiring managers, as you help scope, calibrate, run, and close searches. You are super curious, enjoy figuring things out, and are currently leveraging AI to automate repetitious tasks that no longer serve you, while continuing to test and experiment how tools can scale you and the broader team in tandem.
This role is ideal for someone who can operate at both altitude and detail. You enjoy defining where to go, building the path to get there, and still execute day-to-day with strong follow-through. You know how to create structure without over-building, and think in ways that make the recruiting function more repeatable, scalable, and effective over time.
What You’ll Do
- Manage a full-cycle req load and flex across technical or non-technical hiring depending on background, business need, and team priorities
- Act as a trusted hiring partner who can coach, guide, and challenge hiring managers through req kick-off and talent strategy conversations
- Leverage AI and other tools to improve recruiting quality, speed, insight, and efficiency, with an eye toward macro-level optimization rather than just individual productivity
- Strengthen recruiting operations by identifying friction points, asking smart questions, learning systems quickly, and working through roadblocks with high ownership
- Maintain highly organized, accessible work across documents, systems, trackers, and project artifacts so others can step in, follow, and build on what has been created
- Operate with urgency and thoughtfulness, moving fast without sacrificing judgment, candidate experience, or hiring quality
- Pick up broader recruiting projects as needed and pitch-in to help fill gaps across the team
What You’ll Bring
- 5+ years of recruiting experience with meaningful ownership of full-cycle hiring and strong hiring-manager partnership
- Startup recruiting experience where you’ve built and hired teams without big brand backing
- Experience carrying and closing requisitions while also building or improving workflows and infrastructure
- Technical aptitude and systems fluency; able to learn new tools quickly, troubleshoot process gaps, and improve how work gets done – you are building productively with AI and can demonstrate creative ways you’ve leveraged AI to source, automate, and scale yourself (not just point to a feature built into your ATS)
- Strong operator mindset with the ability to build structure, create repeatable processes, and keep work organized and visible
- Demonstrated success filling unique roles that are not a dime a dozen
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence hiring teams, set direction, and create alignment across stakeholders
- Comfort working across ambiguity, shifting priorities, and startup-level pace while still staying thoughtful and intentional
- High curiosity and strong instincts; someone who pushes beyond surface-level answers and understands how seemingly small actions affect the broader system
Attributes that describe you:
- Proactive: You think ahead, anticipate needs, and plan around likely risks or decision points
- Innovative: You think big, experiment, and are willing to test smarter ways of working
- Transparent: You keep the team looped in on meaningful updates, overlapping work, and changes that affect others
- Curious: You dig deeper, ask questions, and push past surface-level understanding
- Scales work: You create structure where it is needed and help others become more rigorous over time
- Intuitive: You understand the likely downstream impact of actions, decisions, and process choices
- Organized: You keeps a clean house and create work product that is accessible, durable, and easy for others to use
- Intentional: You move quickly, but with strong judgement and clear rationale
The base pay range for this role is $57 – $75 per hour.
