Job Description

The Contracts Review Attorney is responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of contracts in support of the firm’s engineering and professional service operations. The role provides legal guidance on contract interpretation, identifies and mitigates legal risk, and ensures compliance with industry standards and applicable regulations. The Contracts Review Attorney collaborates closely with internal stakeholders, clients, and vendors to support contract development, resolve contract-related issues, and facilitate successful project execution across the organization.

This position is classified as an independent contractor role. The contractor may perform services from any location, using their own equipment and resources, and will be compensated through Accounts Payable. The contractor is responsible for all applicable taxes, insurance, and expenses associated with the services provided.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Contracts Attorney or in a related legal role.
  • Active Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
  • Experience in A/E or construction industry or similar field.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Draft and review contracts including A/E professional service agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and other legal documents.
  • Assist with negotiating contract terms with clients, vendors, and other parties.
  • Provide legal advice on contract interpretation and obligations.
  • Identify and mitigate potential legal risks within contractual agreements.
  • Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary information for contract development.
  • Assist in resolving any contract-related disputes or issues.
  • Conduct legal research to support contract negotiations and development.

  • Exceptional negotiation and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific contract regulations and standards.
  • Advanced understanding of contract law and commercial terms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and a meticulous approach to reviewing documents.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in legal research and writing.

The hourly range for this position is $60-77.
