You bring a proactive mindset, a consistent creative voice, and the ability to connect tactical execution to broader brand and strategic objectives. You see the full business picture, understand the implications of creative decisions on the brand, and confidently move work forward across multiple projects. You are comfortable stepping outside the brief when appropriate, contributing to ideation and engagement planning, and elevating the thinking behind the work. This role also requires an understanding of agency process and procedures such as routing, client med-legal processes, and tactical pull-through. This is an individual contributor role. It reports to an Associate Creative Director.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timelines
    and deliverables are met

  • Deliver long-form writing independently (eg, IVAs, websites, comprehensive
    campaign materials)

  • Write for video and multimedia content with clear narrative structure
    and storytelling strength

  • Initiate and contribute to concept development, both hands-on and

  • at the ideation stage

  • Step beyond the brief when appropriate to elevate creative and strategic thinking

  • Link tactical deliverables to overarching brand strategy and campaign objectives

  • Maintain a consistent, recognizable creative voice across materials and channels

  • Collaborate closely with art directors, strengthening the art-copy dynamic

  • Engage in tactical planning and contribute ideas for audience engagement

  • Understand and anticipate brand implications of creative decisions and revisions

  • Present work to clients with confidence and clarity

  • Work independently on smaller initiatives or components of larger
projects in client settings (eg, digital banners, campaign extensions)

  • Incorporate feedback efficiently and deliver strong work with minimal
    revision rounds

Requirements

  • 4-8 years of experience in a copywriting role within an agency, with experience in a healthcare/pharma or regulated agency environment required

  • Strong understanding of brand strategy and how creative work integrates
    across disciplines

  • Demonstrated ability to concept and execute long-form and multimedia content

  • Established creative voice and consistent storytelling ability

  • Ability to manage multiple projects under pressure while maintaining quality

  • Solid grasp of science and regulatory considerations, with the ability to apply them effectively (eg, annotations/referencing, applying context & balance
    where applicable)

  • Experience collaborating closely with art directors and cross-functional partners

  • Comfort presenting work to clients and contributing meaningfully to discussions

  • Strong time management skills and the ability to work autonomously

  • Ability to articulate the strategic rationale behind creative decisions

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Marketing,
    or related field

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
