WHAT WE'LL NEED

The Data Privacy Analyst will support the ongoing development, implementation, and daily operations of Wingstop’s global data privacy compliance program. Reporting directly to the Manager of Data Privacy & Third-Party Risk, this early-career role is responsible for assisting with a range of privacy compliance tasks, helping to operationalize privacy operations across markets, systems, and processes, and contributing to cross-functional collaboration to ensure the responsible handling of personal data.

The role is ideal for a detail-oriented and proactive professional who is eager to grow in the privacy and data protection space. The Data Privacy Analyst will play a key part in supporting compliance with global data protection laws and internal privacy policies, while also helping to embed privacy practices throughout the organization.


WHAT YOU'LL DO

In this role, the Privacy Analyst will: 

  • Assist in incorporating privacy by design principles into business processes and technology initiatives by gathering requirements and coordinating with cross-functional teams.
  • Support day-to-day privacy operations, including intake and tracking of data subject requests (DSRs), contract reviews, data mapping activities, and privacy inboxes.
  • Help maintain and update privacy documentation such as policies, procedures, records of processing activities (ROPAs), and training materials.
  • Contribute to the administration and configuration of data privacy tools and technologies used for cookie compliance and other similar technologies management. 
  • Track and help analyze privacy metrics and incident trends to support reporting and compliance efforts.
  • Assist in verifying compliance of systems and processes with internal privacy policies and regulatory obligations.
  • Assist in drafting, reviewing, and updating privacy notices, terms and conditions, and cookie notices to ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Initiate, facilitate, and promote activities to foster information privacy awareness within Wingstop and related entities.
  • Provide recommendations on privacy processes pertaining to privacy incident investigations and response, privacy program audits, privacy and security impact and risk assessments, and stakeholder communication and management under the guidance of the data privacy manager.
  • Proactively and effectively communicate ideas and recommendations for optimizing business operations, resources, and capacity to meet internal and external compliance goals.
  • Coordinate with IT, Security, Legal, Human Resources, and other teams to support privacy-related requests and projects.
  • Stay current on evolving privacy laws, regulations, and best practices, and summarize relevant updates for internal stakeholders as Wingstop expands into new international markets, as well as existing markets. 
  • Help promote a culture of privacy awareness by supporting internal training and education initiatives.


WHAT YOU'LL NEED

To be successful in the role, the candidate will have:

  • A passion for data privacy and working knowledge of global privacy laws and regulations (i.e CCPA, GDPR, PIPEDA, and similar).
  • Familiarity with OneTrust ecosystem of products preferred.
  • Ability to understand technical architectures, system capabilities and explain data privacy requirements to various levels of data privacy knowledge.
  • Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work as a part of a team.
  • Flexibility to change direction and manage conflicting demands.
  • Outstanding organizational and data analytics skills.
  • Ability to comfortably work multiple projects.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Information Systems, Legal Studies, Cybersecurity, Business, or Compliance.
  • 1– 3 years of experience in privacy, data protection, compliance, or related fields (internships acceptable).
  • Foundational understanding of data protection principles and regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, PIPEDA, CANSPAM).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Basic familiarity with data flows, systems, or information governance is a plus.
  • Ability to clearly communicate privacy requirements in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
  • Willingness to learn privacy technologies and tools.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CIPP/US, CIPP/E, or CIPT) are a plus but not required.
