In this role you will work with data scientists, engineers, and business partners to build, evaluate, and apply machine learning and analytics solutions to real-world problems. You'll explore diverse datasets, support modeling and analysis, and contribute to the development of scalable, AI-driven tools that drive smarter decisions across the business.

The hourly range for this role is $36.00.
The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant. C08+ positions may also be eligible for annual bonus.

What You'll Do
- Support analytics and decision-making with data insights generated through machine learning
- Develop, assess, and track predictive models using established guidelines
- Apply ML techniques (e.g., regression, tree-based models, time series)
- Contribute to analytics workflows including feature engineering and model evaluation
- Leverage generative AI tools to improve efficiency and insight generation
- Conduct root-cause analysis and translate data into actionable insights
- Develop dashboards, reports, and data visualizations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop impactful solutions
- Learn and follow Chewy's standards for production analytics and responsible AI
What You'll Need
- Full-time enrollment in a master's degree program in a quantitative or technical discipline focused on Machine Learning or Artificial Intelligence, with an anticipated graduation date of Spring 2027
- Understanding of statistics, machine learning, and data analysis
- Proficiency in SQL and Python (academic, project, or internship experience acceptable)
- Familiarity with predictive modeling techniques
- Exposure to cloud-based analytics or strong desire to learn (AWS a plus)
- Ability to communicate complex results in a clear, straightforward way
- Experience with BI tools (e.g., Tableau)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Current permanent U.S. work authorization required
- Ability to work 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday, from June 8, 2026 - December 11, 2026
Bonus
- Academic or project experience applying computational intelligence or applied AI to real-world datasets
- Exposure to GenAI tools or platforms used to support analytics, coding, or documentation workflows
- Interest in model interpretability, monitoring, and responsible AI practices
- Experience in e-commerce, retail, or other fast-paced environments
