Intelligent Automation Developer

Location: Remote

Security Clearance: Active Top Secret or ability to obtain; US Citizen

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced intelligent automation (RPA + AI) developer with an active Top Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one. The ideal candidate blends hands-on development with light project coordination, operates effectively in agile teams, and delivers multi-platform automations across Microsoft Power Automate (Desktop and flows), Power Apps, UiPath, and integrations with Power BI, Python, and Databricks. Candidates should have a strong background in financial management processes and automation—including the Defense Agencies Initiative (DAI)—exceptional client consultation abilities, and robust documentation skills. Experience working with U.S. federal government and Department of Defense (DoD) clients is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the technical bridge between project managers and developers, clearly communicating business and functional needs to clients and internal staff.
  • Conduct business process and requirements analysis and advise clients on key architectural decisions concerning the platform and supporting technologies.
  • Evaluate risks related to requirements management, business process definition, testing, internal controls, project communications, training, and organizational change management.
  • Lead, build, test, and deliver intelligent automation solutions using platform-agnostic, multi-vendor technologies (e.g., Microsoft Power Automate, UiPath).
  • Produce technical architectures, develop system requirements, identify resource needs, and estimate timelines for project completion.
  • Develop concepts and methodologies to improve processes, team effectiveness, and technology solutions.
  • Create client-ready deliverables, including requirements specifications, process analyses, system-based and manual controls, functional designs, and test plans.
  • Work in agile environments (Scrum/Kanban) and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience delivering Advana and DataBricks RPA/intelligent automation solutions end-to-end (design, build, test, deploy, support) in production.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline from an accredited college/university.
  • Strong expertise with Microsoft Power Automate (Desktop and flows) and Power Apps.
  • Exposure to at least one additional automation platform (e.g., UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, Workato).
  • Programming and integration skills in Python and at least one of C#/.NET, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Power Fx; strong understanding of REST APIs, OAuth, JSON, and SQL.
  • Ability to integrate automations with enterprise systems and data sources, including Oracle Federal Financials, DAI, and Oracle OBIEE.
  • Experience applying AI to automation using AI Builder, OCR/document intelligence, and LLM integrations, with responsible-AI guardrails and human-in-the-loop review.
  • Experience with business process design/reengineering and process mapping; strong analytical, documentation, and client consultation abilities.
  • Working knowledge of governance, security, and compliance frameworks relevant to federal/DoD environments (e.g., FISMA, FedRAMP) and requirements for handling PII/CUI.
  • Proficiency with Git and CI/CD for version control, automated testing, and deployments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
