About Us

Fieldguide is establishing a new state of trust for global commerce and capital markets through automating and streamlining the work of assurance and audit practitioners with AI agents. They are based in San Francisco and have raised over $125M+ in venture funding from top Silicon Valley investors to accomplish their ambitious vision, including Growth Equity at Goldman Sachs Alternatives, Bessemer Venture Partners, 8VC, Floodgate, Y Combinator, Justin Kan, Elad Gil, and more.

Fieldguide has become the defining agentic company for CPAs, with more than 50%+ of the top-100 CPA firms as customers, including several Big 4, and an industry-leading NPS to match. They save up to 75% of time on manual tasks and unlock over 4x capacity for audit practitioners, helping provide the work-life balance that is rare in the profession. Fieldguide is on the same growth curve as the later-stage vertical AI leaders, but you would be joining early enough to have a meaningful impact.

Fieldguide values diversity, both in backgrounds and in experiences to help build the future of audit and advisory. They are deliberate in preserving a winning culture with their FFLOWI values - Fearless, Fast, Lovable, Owners, Win-Win, Inclusive - providing space for teammates to do their career’s best work through a tightly-knit support network.

If you want to shape the most important shift in how commerce and capital markets establish trust, alongside world-class teammates, Fieldguide would love to build with you.

About the Role

The Director, Audit Transformation will lead the shift from traditional audit execution to an agentic operating model. Reporting to the Head of Audit, you will set the direction for how financial audit agents are designed, adopted, and scaled across our customer base.

You will serve as the connection point between the Fieldguide agentic platform and the profession it serves. In partnership with product, engineering, sales, and customer success, you will define the scope of the audit expertise behind an agentic operating model rather than layering agents onto legacy processes, including the documentation required to satisfy professional standards and withstand regulatory inspection. With Customer Success, you will establish the change management framework that guides firms from initial adoption through full transformation, built for consistent delivery at scale.

You will also support the Head of Audit on the strategic planning and special initiatives that translate audit strategy into execution and go to market initiatives.

This role calls for a leader with audit credibility earned through leading engagements, shaping methodology, or driving innovation within a leading firm, together with the conviction that professional judgment remains central to the audit. This is an opportunity to define how audit is delivered in the next decade, not to refine how it is delivered today.

What You’ll Do

Product Partnership

  • Serve as the audit domain expert in product discovery, prioritization, and roadmap planning for agent-based workflows, translating practitioner and firm needs into product specs

  • Work with AI architects and engineers to translate professional standards and practitioner judgment into the prompts, workflows, and guardrails behind our integrated methodologies and testing agents

  • Determine which procedures are suitable for agent execution, what level of autonomy is appropriate, and how output must be documented to satisfy professional standards and withstand regulatory inspection

  • Pressure-test new agent capabilities with practitioners before they ship, creating a tight feedback loop between the field, Methodology, and Product

Customer Transformation

  • Own, with Customer Success, the transformation motion that guides firms from initial adoption to full agentic audit transformation, including the playbook, maturity model, and program structure behind it

  • Equip Customer Success with the frameworks, content, and training to deliver transformation engagements repeatably and at scale, rather than one-off and bespoke

  • Serve as executive sponsor and audit subject-matter expert on transformation engagements with Fieldguide's most strategic accounts

  • Act as an escalation point on complex methodology and adoption issues

  • Monitor customer health and methodology fit, feeding what you learn back into the product and methodology roadmaps

  • Represent Fieldguide externally through written content, webinars, and speaking engagements such as AICPA ENGAGE and state CPA societies, and through relationships with standard-setters, regulators, and industry analysts

  • Monitor regulatory and standard-setting developments across the PCAOB, AICPA, and SEC, and translate the implications into Fieldguide's product, methodology, and messaging

Go-to-Market Support

  • Partner with Sales and Solutions Engineering on go to market opportunities, leading executive briefings, product demonstrations, and technical validation conversations with firm leadership

  • Represent Fieldguide on customer onsites, building credibility with both firm leadership and technical evaluators

  • Support Sales and Marketing with audit-credible narrative, competitive positioning, and content across top-of-funnel and late-stage deals

About You
  • CPA with 10+ years of financial audit experience at a public accounting firm, including senior leadership, national office, or innovation/transformation exposure, including direct experience with regulatory and standard-setting bodies.

  • Experience designing or scaling a repeatable transformation or change-management program (playbooks, maturity models, training)

  • Strong expertise in auditing standards and audit methodology

  • Experience with audit technology, automation, or AI-enabled tools, audit methodologies, templates, or workpapers.

  • Working knowledge of quality control/quality management standards as they relate to methodology and audit documentation.

  • Ability to translate professional standards into structured workflows and logic

  • Strong analytical thinking and ability to work cross-functionally with product and engineering teams

  • Executive presence and the confidence to lead demos, onsites, and validation sprints directly in front of firm leadership and regulators.

Nice to Haves
  • Active involvement with AICPA, state CPA societies, or standard-setting bodies.

  • Experience building or scaling a firm-wide innovation or transformation initiative.

  • Experience working in audit methodology, quality or national office roles.

  • Expertise in international auditing standards and methodologies.

  • Experience with LLM-based or agentic workflows, prompt design, or AI-enabled audit tooling.

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
