Role Overview

Cologix is seeking a strategic, hands-on Director of Digital Marketing to lead and execute our digital strategy across North America. This role owns digital performance end-to-end—strategy, execution, optimization and reporting for data center solutions for enterprises, hyperscalers and service providers

This is a player-coach position. With a lean team structure, this leader will both set direction and directly contribute across key channels including website optimization, paid media, search, content, social and blog.  This role will manage a demand center operations resource and multiple vendors.

The Director will drive measurable pipeline impact, strengthen brand authority and ensure digital marketing functions as a scalable growth engine aligned with revenue objectives.

Core Responsibilities

    Digital Strategy and Performance Ownership
    • Develop and evolve an integrated digital strategy aligned to pipeline and revenue goals
    • Translate company priorities into clear digital channel plans
    • Define KPIs across web, paid, organic and AI-powered search
    • Deliver executive-ready performance reporting and insights
    • Partner with corporate marketing and regional marketing teams to align investments and outcomes
    • Hands-On Digital Channel Execution and Optimization
      • AI-powered search optimization and AEO implementation
      • SEO strategy and on-page optimization
      • Paid media oversight and optimization (Google Ads, LinkedIn, display, 6sense alignment)
      • Digital launch coordination
      • A/B testing and conversion optimization initiatives
      • Execution may be supported by an agency and internal team members, but this role remains actively involved in build, review, optimization and performance improvement.
      • Website Strategy and Management
        • Own website roadmap, UX improvements and conversion optimization strategy
        • Coordinate with agency partner on enhancements and updates
        • Lead experimentation initiatives to improve conversion performance
        • Ensure the website functions as a demand-generation engine, not just a publishing platform
        • Partner with content team to ensure website is optimized for customer journeys and conversation
        • Ensure content on website is updated as needed
        • Social Leadership and Content
          • Provide social media strategy and performance; ensure day-to-day execution is effective.  Manage all social accounts.
          • Publish social media content in alignment with editorial calendar
          • Oversee blog platform and content alignment across campaigns, social and blog
          • Shift focus from volume-based posting to high-impact visibility and authority
          • Guide and elevate the performance of our social accounts
          • Team and Vendor Leadership
            • Lead and develop the Marketing Operations Senior Manager
            • Ensure clear role delineation to maximize efficiency
            • Manage digital vendors and technology platforms (HubSpot, analytics, advertising platforms, etc.)
            • Continuously evaluate tools and AI applications that improve scale and impact

Experience and Profile/Qualifications

    • 8+ years of B2B digital marketing experience
    • Experience in infrastructure, data center, cloud, network or complex technology environments preferred

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
