The Director of Experience Design leads the development, piloting, and evolution of end-to-end retail experience concepts across physical, digital, and human touchpoints. This role translates strategic inputs, customer insights, and business priorities into scalable, operationally viable experiences that enhance customer engagement and sales outcomes. The Director partners cross-functionally with Brand, Digital, Product, and AI teams to deliver cohesive omnichannel experiences. The role also establishes frameworks, playbooks, and toolkits to enable consistent execution across formats. This position drives innovation beyond store design into holistic experience systems.

  • Lead development and continuous evolution of end-to-end experience concepts across physical, digital, and human touchpoints.
  • Design, pilot, test, and scale experience concepts using test-and-learn methodologies.
  • Enable seamless omnichannel customer journeys with intuitive wayfinding and integrated touchpoints.
  • Develop experience frameworks, playbooks, and toolkits for scalable implementation.
  • Integrate AI and emerging technologies into human-centered retail experiences.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Retail Strategy, Brand, Digital, and Product teams.
  • Lead, mentor, and build high-performing experience design teams.

The Experience You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Industrial Design, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or Design preferred.
  • 10+ years managing design studios delivering complex projects across varying scales and budgets.
  • 5+ years leading and developing high-performing creative and technical teams.

Base Pay Range: $174,300 - $235,800

Corporate Bonus Target: 25%

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as qualifications and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year.
